Episode 23 - Battery on all cylinders as Indy misfires

Join the Cannon Crue in their discussion of the recent 5 nil thrashing of of the Indy Eleven. Nick scores his 21st goal and the Battery rebounds from last week with five different goal scorers highlighting the Battery's ability to score from anywhere. Granit jumps in at the end as he was working away with his fellow Dorchester County public servants dealing with the flooding from Debbie. Stay safe out there and Don't Drown, Turn Around!!

ps. Apologies for the lack of intro and outro music!

[00:00:00] Welcome to the Cannon Crue podcast. This is not Granite. This is Patrick, satellite hosting for a boy who is out doing a little work for the EOC. He's not just taking vacations, doing some good work out there for the community, but I

[00:00:19] am joined by Ryan. Ryan, what's up? Hey, doing good, Pat. How are you? I'm well. I hope you're safe from little Debbie that came roaring through. Yeah, we were very fortunate over here just sending out prayers to those who weren't so

[00:00:39] fortunate and just praying for those who can get out of their homes and get about their lives now that it's over with. Yeah, absolutely. Saw some devastating stuff, a lot of devastating flooding which we typically see this time of year with some tropical storm, hurricanes. So

[00:01:01] prayers for everyone out there still dealing with that and hopefully Granite can jump in at the end of this and give you a little update on what he's been doing with the community and getting out

[00:01:11] there. But we got a battery game to talk about. Yeah, we do. We've got a great game to talk about. Yeah, we hosted Indie 11 last weekend and where do you want to start? You want to start with Chef Ryan drilling up some Smash burgers at the tailgate?

[00:01:39] Yeah, I mean so for those who don't know and haven't been yet, for most games we do a tailgate over in the Yellow lot underneath the pavilion leading to those back fields. I had the Blackstone

[00:01:53] out, we had chicken wings, brats, burgers, actually made little sliders, pasta salad and all that stuff. Had a great group of kids out there, great group of people and also have my kids from

[00:02:06] the goalkeeper camp also came out there, got to feed them and then got to go around the field and help the team for warm-ups. So that was really cool. Very cool. Now these were the keepers that

[00:02:22] not only from the high school but also the camp you kind of led this past July, correct? Correct, yeah. So the camp was based out of West Asherey High School but it was for all ages 10

[00:02:36] through 17 boys and girls. So it was really cool getting a mix of those people and I'll tell you what, 10 to 11 year old girls who want to play keeper watch out. Those are the most fierce

[00:02:49] people I have seen and I love it. I love training them. Yeah, it was nice seeing the kids out there always good to have the younger generation out getting to watch a professional game

[00:03:04] and not only that but a stomping of a game. So I'd also like to give a quick shout out to Matt on the wings, they're delicious so hopefully he's doing it every single time for us.

[00:03:19] Now those are awesome. I do want to give a special shout out to Chris Gardner, the goalkeeper who stepped in for the battery. We're going to get a little bit more into him

[00:03:30] but I just want to say thank you for him to come on over and talk into my group of keepers. He had a stellar performance like I said we'll get into but what a top notch guy

[00:03:42] saw that I had keepers there and whatever and spoke to them, talked about his what it takes to be a pro and what to keep working on all that stuff and

[00:03:53] it's just amazing to see that as a coach especially and we just continue to hope for more of that. Yeah speaking of Gardner, he was one of a few faces that are new to the battery.

[00:04:09] I think he had a pretty good first half and for those of you who don't know him, he was on loan from Greenville if that's correct and coming in for our not only fiery red hair but fiery red card, goalie, no. Adam Grinney.

[00:04:31] Yes he got the start what do you think of his first half because it was a pretty, I wouldn't say lackluster first half but I definitely say the battery held them to

[00:04:42] some half chances and we had a few solid chances of our own but nothing really went in. I think Chris did a good job on learning his back line. It's always nerve-wracking as a keeper

[00:04:56] especially you know only a day or two notice that here's your new team, here's what you're going into and to understand everything and get given the start right away. You are going to get some

[00:05:08] nerves especially him going up a total new league because like I said he's playing in Greenville Triumph who's in USL League 1 currently sitting about third in the table I believe and now he's

[00:05:20] stepping up for the battery playing in a game and we're sitting second place in the east right now in USL championship so for him to go through all those nerves and everything I think he did

[00:05:31] great in the first half just keeping everything very calm situated tighten it in the back but end of the day Leland Archer or captain in the back isn't going to let anything happen to

[00:05:43] them and I think it was a very it was a very midfield first half you think Pat like it wasn't anything on either end yeah I mean it was a very I don't know if you want to say like

[00:05:57] feel each other out because I don't think that's the case I think we we know how to play them but maybe it's just a start for our team trying to lay a little more defensively than we

[00:06:09] normally would maybe yeah I was very shocked that we played so defensively considering how last time we played them we beat them 5-0 in the first round of the playoffs and now going to this game they have Augie who we who used to play for us last year

[00:06:29] he's a top notch striker that's really the only thing I see on indie 11 and the fact that we just didn't take that assertiveness to them the aggressiveness and the attack right away to them

[00:06:41] kind of let you know I'm sitting up in the stands at the end of the first half seeing 0-0 on this whole board and I'm like what are we doing this is not how we played them last year

[00:06:48] this is not how we should be playing them even now considering how we have been playing so it left me kind of confused and the second half was a totally different story that was the team that should have came out in the first half

[00:07:02] yeah so let's get into it since the first half that's all we need to really touch on but Myers was the one who finally breaks the deadlock he got his 10th goal of the year 50 second minute

[00:07:18] kind of in the faster we've seen quite a few of his goals to be honest kind of that will that cheeky half turn and just catching the goalie off-footed almost what do you think of it

[00:07:29] he was off-footed yeah the keeper was definitely off-footed and I don't know why because as soon as you see him make the turn I think the keeper took the extra because I was

[00:07:40] rewatching it and it's like the keeper took a jump thinking that he was going to pass it across the goal frame so like he was jumping preparing to take another half step across his body to get

[00:07:51] across goal frame and it wasn't it was just an immediate shot and just left the keeper stunned I think it was an excellent read by him and this is just a class goal the keeper shouldn't make that

[00:08:03] mistake though should never never assume because you should always assume that he's going to take the shot yeah I mean it sounds like the deep prepared if he's going to pass it you know right I mean

[00:08:15] it sounds like he did his homework though seeing such a dangerous attack where we have been laying it off to each other just very unselfish um well like we said quite a few times you kind of need to

[00:08:27] md to step up and be selfish take the hit stop trying to make that extra pass or that quick first ball and it off in this time exactly and I think that's all it was it was simply the fact

[00:08:38] that if we've talked about it so many times in the final third we pass pass pass pass and we haven't been taking shots in this game we were like we need to take these shots have to have

[00:08:49] to have to the keeper jumps thinking he's going to pass and he just turns and shoots and looks with look what happens you know this is the type of stuff you don't have to shoot every time now

[00:08:59] it just means you have the option don't just pass it every time when you definitely can shoot but don't shoot every time when you could pass it you know what I'm saying it's it's a soccer

[00:09:09] IQ of understanding of when and when not to yeah and that's you always have that choice it's a special connection between him and marcanik too uh who gets the assist on this one

[00:09:22] it just the quick step head up and just play the ball in first time like he may have had one touch but like you get it right find the guy find your striker in the center let him cook and then uh

[00:09:37] the rest of the MD is going to be looking to get you back oh it well um yeah oh yeah he ate well so we had to wait a little bit for the next one 70 minutes uh but then he calza gets it

[00:09:51] and quick shout out happy anniversary today calza always nice to celebrate your first year so kudos to that but what do you think of his goal think anything special there or just

[00:10:06] some good team play well no this is this is exactly what you want from your team like it's a set piece the shots taken on goal ball's loose on the goal line and he was there to pick it up because

[00:10:22] because he's the hardest working player on that field day in and day out you can make an argument to me about who about whoever pat you can make an argument but he cause it will

[00:10:34] always be at that top yeah he will and guys swinging that ball in is rodriguez right from the corner which we're used to seeing i think molloy take always switch it up a little bit and we talk

[00:10:46] about the depth of talent but the depth of skill level is kind of creeping in for the opposition of just not being able to man mark specific players and and kind of eliminate the threat

[00:10:59] because no matter who has the ball at their feet even it be gram smith or singers or dosentos everyone's kind of a threat on that attacking front which is really nice to come to fruition

[00:11:13] getting into this later second half of the year yeah now i totally agree and jenia just love that a caza was the one to get it and it just shows you that no matter what level

[00:11:28] there's always going to be those types of goals that go in and the fact that the entire just love how they treat it like it's any other goal the whole team goes and celebrates the energy the passion

[00:11:39] you can rewatch the clip of the caza as soon as he's it and he runs into the goal he just takes instead of just kicking it into the goal he like takes his whole body with the ball and then

[00:11:48] blasts it in the next he's already crossed the line right yeah and you just see the fire the fiery intensity guy that's in his eyes and he just has all the passion

[00:12:00] and you know that's that's what you want that carries so much momentum with you the fans see it in his eyes and are fully behind him i mean that stadium erupted once he scored and it was

[00:12:13] it that goal is it it is what it is but it's who scored and how he scored afterwards his reaction is what is what changed the stadium the field the atmosphere right and fairness there were about three battery players who were all fighting for that one so i

[00:12:30] think he caused it just got there a little quicker to his credit but then he turns around wins the ball gets it over to torres and torres lays it up for nicks league leading 20th

[00:12:47] goal on the season incredible five more he needs five more to tie the all-time record all-time record is 25 goals in a season i mean we touched on this pretty early on when he was on fire and then he

[00:13:02] went through that wall but seeing the way they're playing again in this attack that kind of like the push after a couple of loves across your draws and just a way like we have like one

[00:13:16] to feet but like bunch of draws in a row and then they finally just got their butts in gear and they're starting to just like like they did early on the season start scoring freely move around

[00:13:27] create space create so much opportunity because opposition have to play a little more forward they can't rely on just being deep and being down by two goals they have to start stepping up

[00:13:39] and i think we really just start exploiting that once we get a goal or two and i i don't know i love seeing it but i wish we would do it in the first half so we can really open the games yeah that's

[00:13:53] exactly what i said was going at two is that you know if this is the team that showed up in the first half the first minute of the game the second half you're sitting five oh a half

[00:14:04] time thinking okay now we can get our academy players in now we can do this we can test all this other stuff it opens the game so much more for you rather than going full force with all

[00:14:15] your main guys trying to get goals in the second half you know you're still having to push your main starters whereas second half you can slow it down that's when you slow down if you want to

[00:14:26] you know yeah i don't think i would have with indy i would have stuck it to him we made a few subs by about one of those subs he did one of us down was conway who grabs the next one

[00:14:38] and i believe was it prince who tossed that ball in at him i think it was prince got the assist you were signing prince gets an assist on this one um and conway's there at the back post attacking

[00:14:52] it a little off the keeper sand but still ends up getting the goal and this is what we talking about earlier right about conway needing to fight for his spot and is indy that guy with

[00:15:05] indy scoring you kind of take that conversation away but now you have con and indy scoring which creates the chaos again so teams have that like single hand focus of oh it doesn't matter like

[00:15:18] their backups in for this game so they're going to kind of lay off the full press attack you still have to work and that opens the games and that opens the game so much underneath for

[00:15:28] ikazo or maloay or even md or marcanik to drop into and and run off of it you know i started seeing indy more in the second half dropping in laying getting the receiving it laying it off and then

[00:15:42] making that run off of the player into the corner and that would open up so much space from the top of from mid for middle in between of the top of the 18 and a half field that mid spot all the way

[00:15:55] to around the pk spot would be completely open and the center backs would be completely split because one would go with md all the way to the corner and then the other one would drift

[00:16:05] to the other side marcanik would slide into the middle and it's just you know we need to exploit these more and i think they're finally getting to that rhythm they tried it a few times

[00:16:16] before and we just haven't been in connection like we were in the second half yeah um i agree with that i think something that also helps us build such confidence is when we don't fall back until like

[00:16:35] leaving our two center backs on an island alone and getting scored on because we've seen it time and time again the focus just kind of shifts back and for some reason when we play a little more

[00:16:48] defensive we we tend not to keep our shape as well and we over commit to the ball instead of just kind of keeping our shape centrally and letting the other teams make a small mistake and pouting

[00:17:00] on them to start our counters we kind of just overplay our hand and that's i think we see a little too many opposition goals go in but fortunately for us augie williams had one

[00:17:13] but he was offside when he received the ball so now if you go into that mindset right like that that gameplay mindset what you just said that would explain how we played the first half because

[00:17:29] we sat in more right we kept the ball the entire time for the majority of the time and then the second half all you saw was endy making constant mistakes and we exploited each one of their mistakes

[00:17:43] every single goal we scored was off of one of their mistakes and we exploited it whether it was yes prince made the throw con we scored off of it can't really say where they made the

[00:17:53] mistake at well you can say the mistake was giving them that throw in and then allowing him to throw it to jacks the conway you know and allowing him to turn half the shot like that that's a mistake

[00:18:03] right there that shouldn't happen i mean this isn't a poor team this is a team that's yeah four in the east so for us to play like that though exactly and for us to play like that is just

[00:18:19] it's it brings more hope to us more cheer and um now that you know we look at now we're looking forward to our next game and we get another signing so i know we've we talked about Gardner

[00:18:37] oh i'm sorry hit on this one Ryan i think this is the exact game we needed after that Tampa Bay loss that red card that's sorry night of going down four two losing our starting keeper

[00:18:53] this is the exact bounce back you want to see as a fan from your club coming out there keeping the clean sheet which we'll talk about here just again with Gardner but just showing that whoever's

[00:19:06] on the pitch they're all behind each other and they put all their effort right back in to lift themselves back up into a solid place and continue to move forward instead of being down

[00:19:17] in the dumps i mean it's so easy you get a red card you lose a game it's a rival game you're sitting in second the team that just beat you's in third you could go on a little

[00:19:30] down slide but they didn't and i think this is exactly what was needed based on our games what even a month or month and a half ago when we kind of went on this slide and we just stayed

[00:19:43] there for a little bit yeah and and you can even say like you know it even it sets us in a better position because if we were to have lost this game to nd think about what that would do for the

[00:19:56] next two weeks for us because now we'd have another home game after just losing a big rivalry game and an at home game and then you'd have to play Memphis and then travel to Louisville

[00:20:12] that would have put us down and then and then then you're at san Antonio afterwards so they're in orange county in sacro public i mean this is a tough schedule you need to be it is we're at

[00:20:25] that end stretch right now and this is a playoff push right now and you know fantastic that we did win this and it was a massive statement game and and now that the battery have come out and said

[00:20:41] you know i love their i love the media guy at the battery give him a shout out because he's he knows what the fans want he knows exactly how to deliver these messages and the

[00:20:52] club knows what what they need and what they went out and did was they announced today that they assigned another new player strictly for their playoff push they said we're going for it

[00:21:04] boys we are coming they did so you're talking about sambi who is a defender from miami uh essentially is a center back and he's coming in to replace paul month who is now confirmed out for the

[00:21:23] year not going to be back in the squad and he kind of was early i felt depth guy essentially right he was going to be that guy that as we get a little bit closer to playoff time maybe he's

[00:21:36] going to be coming in taking those heavy minutes from either smith or archer or just giving one of the guys a solid break for 45 minutes so we'll talk a little bit about him here in a

[00:21:50] but i do want to mention uh garnard who that's he's gone one game and done perfect record at the battery yes yeah so for those um so we signed yes we did sign chris gardener for a short term deal

[00:22:08] i was a loan deal very and no one knew how long this loan deal was going to be for but safe to assume that adam grini is now back in action after serving his red card suspension

[00:22:22] with enzo serving as his backup until daniel kuzma is back on his feet and it's unfortunate you know because you would like to see him still be with the club and grow because i thought he

[00:22:35] was pretty sound but you know he also didn't have a lot to do and i hope the best for chris gardener and i hope they can see him continue to make his progression so continue to get back into

[00:22:46] the usl because i mean pat you look at his resume last year he was with the river hounds and won the league cup with them or yeah the community cup with them i'm curious if you think it's kind

[00:22:59] of a to end those face they brought him in just for one game here because i didn't think he had substitution on for the tampa bit game i think the first goal that went in off that

[00:23:12] free kick was insane i thought he had a pretty good showing it went through his legs one time but as you talked about last pod it happens to goleys you're trying to defend every side

[00:23:25] of the goal and that's it's the one spot you can always defend do you think it was a little harsh bringing in gardener for one game obviously it paid off but is it just an experience you don't

[00:23:35] want to throw them back in and the wolves coming from me as a keeper coach the way i would have handled it is i would have still signed another keeper i would have pushed for another keeper

[00:23:49] to be signed to give yourself that that room to breathe because if let's say you start end zone he gets hurt or he gets carted who's your next keeper you know am i gonna am i am i gonna pull

[00:24:05] ryan from the stands coming down yeah am i gonna pull a thing from the stands i'm available but you know um i don't see them doing that so of course i do see them signing another person

[00:24:16] even it's just for one game and i love that they did that now what i would have hoped and i kind of hope that the battery did consider this is that having an in-house competition and i've seen

[00:24:28] this happen especially at the collegiate level of bringing in the keeper you have a little in-house kind of competition day feeling out both keepers you do a bunch of various games um you know they don't really know what's going on the coaches are obviously watching very closely

[00:24:44] and you know chris may have just beaten them out and gave enough for the coaches to say hey we just feel more confident in you starting this game um and you know i can definitely see that happening

[00:24:57] and with with chris garner you know top tops off to him for you know coming up here not being so nervous and and winning that spot for even if it was just for a game um and so

[00:25:10] he knows this is the professional level and he just needs to keep his head going and keep grinding because it's not a slap in his face as he's a bad player or anything like that if he was he wouldn't

[00:25:22] be on the roster you know and i don't think it it is anything of a disrespect to him i it could have been experience um but end of the day you know each day at practice

[00:25:36] you are fighting for your starting spot you know end end so could have came to practice on a wednesday instead it was just another practice day little did he know if he would have trained

[00:25:46] that hardest that day he would have been starting the next day you know it's just little things like that and that's where consistency comes in with these younger players and a lot of them are

[00:25:55] understanding that until they get into these situations when it's kind of late and it hurts them more mentally i feel like yeah very very true um and not not just kind of academy part

[00:26:13] but you don't want to always depend on them when this team clearly has aspirations of winning the entire thing i mean this is why we're bringing in prince we brought in chapman who didn't get

[00:26:25] garbage minutes he came on 71st minute for rodriguez so he got a solid 20 25 minutes on the field to kind of get his legs under him and be this rotation guy in a sense for rodriguez he caused a

[00:26:41] beloy just to kind of build that void of like hey we're going to get into this stretching games that would be really tough on everyone let's go ahead and dial back the minutes everyone has to put on themselves and let's get prepared for the playoff push

[00:26:58] and let's get prepared for that championship that we're going to win i think a good example of that is sam b coup we touched on a little bit but not only is he from miami he was there for 14

[00:27:15] 14 games this year lots of clearances lots of blocks 46 duels won um but he's german and he played a lot of his time before in europe so he was in the fourth tier

[00:27:30] germany the second tier of austria as well um he's just another great addition a big solid guy to be back there and just back up our players and give some rest to those who need it going into our last

[00:27:45] stretch of the season in another month there yeah and i think he i honestly think he can complement well with you know whoever he's in the back with whether it's graham smith or it's lee lenn archer

[00:27:58] um with sam beat coming in i think that was just the perfect move um that that we definitely needed for the battery um i don't i don't see us having to make another signing now like i'm

[00:28:13] i'm so happy with how the battery have handled their previous situations and have taken it upon themselves like we call them out in this podcast and we've listed everything out and i'm sitting here

[00:28:25] now thinking pat everything that we've said on all these podcasts now like the battery's done it well we count our chickens before the hatch well i'm not saying i'm not saying like we're

[00:28:38] anything like that i'm just saying like you point out these little things that like clubs need to do and all this stuff like anybody can do that like with inter malon or or inter miami no yeah inter

[00:28:48] malon ac malon all those teams like european teams whoever it is right anybody can just say oh it's they just did this as a club they just did this from the outside looking in it's so

[00:29:01] so refreshing as a fan to actually see like you do point out these things and then you see your club actually taking care of it and wanting to do it and actually making a push

[00:29:11] and it just brings so much hope and you see the fans that really get into it in the stadium now because they know what we're doing they know the mission they know ben piermans what his

[00:29:22] goal is and we are all in support of them i mean you know that you're right you don't see clubs do it that often i mean us epl fans as well we wait every summer and we go we need this guy we

[00:29:37] need this guy we need somebody we need to fill this hole we need this we need back up here and yeah i know the windows open for us but to see a team mid season with guys they want and

[00:29:49] trust go out and even add more firepower add more defending power add more goalkeeping abilities even if for one game just to be like we're winning this game too we're not going to

[00:30:01] give this one away we just need him for one day like you're right it's awesome as a fan to actually see a club get back into coach so much and buy into his vision at week in and week out you could

[00:30:19] say hey we kind of need to work on this area or maybe this and then a week later you're seeing it happen or come to fruition and training or signings are on the pitch or in substitutions

[00:30:28] or in tactics and i think it's amazing it's amazing what we have going here at charlson right now yeah see like for example like today i you know i had i had it on both ends you know charlson's

[00:30:42] making this giant push bringing me so much hope and the other end if i go to my epl team with wolves they made me cry today you know came out our number one player pedronetto is being signed to

[00:30:54] chelsea for who knows what probably ride their bench because they can't play all these players and um you know wolves need to sign more players we need these types of areas you know our goal

[00:31:07] keeper is now out the door and we need to sign a new goalkeeper and you know we're they're just not doing it and now you see the battery meeting these things even if it was just for one game they went

[00:31:18] out and got a new goalkeeper like making those efforts pushes and everything just as a fan that's what you want that's what you want in your club i don't know what else you want pat like let me

[00:31:30] give you because let me give you a quote by coach pierman on sam hit me with it and this kind of alludes to what we talked about of like maybe formation changes could come to fruition in the

[00:31:43] future pat stop from coach and he's talking about our new standing sam beak he is good with the ball at his feet progressing it from the back and he has played all along the back line as well

[00:31:57] in this key part as a defensive midfielder so we're to have my board as we make the final push of the season so this could be another piece just right in front and even use more defensively to kind

[00:32:12] of shore up that line and maybe shipped into a three as our wing backs go forward i love oh my gosh i love this so much so just when you think the strategist is done there could be one more

[00:32:32] small piece to this puzzle that's all into chaos and we could see more goals coming our way potentially man seven home games left in this season i'm so excited to see what the battery

[00:32:47] have in store for us because i know it is not over for them i bet augie wishes he was back on the team up front with these guys knocking them in oh for you know he is i saw him after the

[00:33:00] game and you know he he was missing it he was missing everything about it the fans the way he turned around walking off the field and just took in one last look um i showed you a picture of

[00:33:13] his frustration almost i think i showed you a picture of him pre in the tunnel just bobbing his and hearing the fans just it's kind of like he do he was back and like oh i'm going to get

[00:33:27] a lot of shit for this but he didn't know it was coming on the field because it's a completely different team and you saw his frustration i mean only one shot on target with the yellow

[00:33:39] card it's not the it's not the game he wanted to return home but i think as a fan base no no one booed him no one he's done treated him differently great yeah i think everyone is great

[00:33:54] and i think that's kind of threw him off mentally you know he was maybe preparing for a warm welcoming or preparing for a boo and for him just to get kind of nothing and then the battery just to

[00:34:05] lock him up you know uh so great to watch well speaking of the push we're going to be on we have tomorrow night patris points 30 and we haven't played the steam yet this year but

[00:34:20] we're playing mentis so what are we thinking for this is a team we normally played twice a year this is a team we normally played twice a year they went from being in the east last year to now being

[00:34:32] in the west um so this team this year min fist now being in the west for the first time this year they're currently sitting fourth place in the west so another fourth place team they're

[00:34:45] actually tied with oakland at 32 points sitting six points behind new mexico um and i think mint this Memphis game can go either way if you look at how we've played them in the past because you know

[00:35:01] last time we played them beat them 1-0 we lost to them 3-2 lost them 5-0 lost them 2-0 we beat them 2-0 very back and forth games but you know their goal difference is what kind of shows me

[00:35:15] um all i need to see and i think we win 3-1 um i do think we do give up one uh with their type of press and the way they attack and everything i think it's at some point we're susceptible to

[00:35:30] to getting one in on us um but i think we still win commanding 3s 3-0 or 3-1 you know i'm so hopeful we get the clean sheet um but i do see a still bagging three against them

[00:35:42] um i'll go ahead and make a prediction um i think griny is going to come back strong and and fire it up and keep the clean sheet uh i hope so i think we'll probably just

[00:35:55] i'll go with the 2-0 win i'm gonna hope for nick to get his 21st and 22nd here and just kind of relive some of that pressure going into our our extended run here of very

[00:36:08] tough opponents yeah i definitely i'd definitely like to call it a goal score see i mean i hope nick gets another one that would add 21 uh 21 goals and that would be our 23rd game of the season

[00:36:22] i believe 24 24 games in so it'd be 21 goals and 24 games uh with six more home games left to play he just needs four goals um love to see it at a home game uh and i mean i'm hope i'm hoping it's uh

[00:36:39] one of those last three home games of the season either detroit root island or louden i think it's gonna happen against detroit and so maybe we'll get to see the record lives at home

[00:36:50] broken all you know so in life all right well because are we gonna have a little tailgate again yellow lot pavilion grudel come in it's up in the it's up in the air potential uh

[00:37:04] see how the weather is going to be looking out um hope to hope to have a little pre game over there if not you know if we don't have the grill and stuff out there would definitely have a group

[00:37:14] out there um you know if any kids want to come over bring a soccer ball the goals are open everyone kick around for a bit until you know time to go in a lot of new vendors there tonight

[00:37:24] or tomorrow night for the batter game who we got who's coming in oh got a list of people switching them all up we're gonna have our favorites no we still have we still have our favorites

[00:37:42] don't you worry but we still have um well i can't find it there we go smash city burgers kachita's kitchen tom traveling tom's coffee got coastal cross the craves mac daddy truck

[00:37:58] that's the best that's my favorite you know get the mac and cheese with a pulled pork on top the barbeque sauce uh a new one is coming trippy hot dogs so for those hot dog fans now you're getting your own

[00:38:11] truck there's no step it out or uh and then smash it and switch it over to smash it exactly nothing but the bunk cake common jay or ben and jerry's and t&t kettle corn all right well it's going

[00:38:26] to be it's going to be a packed house get your it's now um i know coming off this storm a lot of people are gonna be looking to get out of the house even if they still have some stuff at home

[00:38:38] they're playing with either flooding or trees down uh i think it's gonna be a good night for charleston to have a few pints some good food and and watch the boys get that win oh i can't wait to watch

[00:38:53] it all right well ryan i will see you at the game and i had to kick it over if granite wants to say hi to everyone and give a little update on what's going on on his end but i will see you tomorrow ryan

[00:39:12] sounds good i'll see you tomorrow take it away granite hey everyone this is granite just got back from the dorset county emergency operation center working a shift there lasted long all day thanks ryan and patrick for doing the podcast i've kind of been delaying it all week

[00:39:31] did all the weather and everything if you go to www.dortchestercountysc.gov you can track the flooding on the roadmap if you look at the roadmap and you click on any of

[00:39:43] the red portions of it and you see a notation says don't drown turn around that's most likely granite in there working trying to make sure everything's updated and a very timely manner at a still still rising so be careful out there don't go through the water there's nothing

[00:40:02] that important to get out of the way all you're going to do is cause resources to come pluck you out of the water and plus there's roadways eroding away underneath all that russian water

[00:40:13] same thing is happening in berkeley county so if you're in berkeley county just stay put if you if you need to go somewhere don't unless it's an emergency then you need to call whoever

[00:40:21] you need to call a big shout out to all the employees in dortchester county that are working hard to keep everybody safe it's happening the same thing in berkeley county and all the other counties surrounding the tri-county area and another big shout out to traveling toms coffee

[00:40:38] stopped by the eoc passed out some coffee and it was fantastic and they did it with a smile and so at the match tomorrow night make sure you stop by give them some of your coinage

[00:40:52] tell them thank you for looking out for the public servants and trying to keep everybody safe and that's all i got thanks hopefully we'll see you tomorrow night
