[00:00:10] Intro Music
[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Cannon Crue, a weekly podcast discussing the Charleston Battery.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Your host Granit will be joined by other defenders of the fleet from the Black and Yellow supporters section.
[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And together they will help fortify and conquer the other Cannon Crue.
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the Cannon Crue podcast, this is Granit and I'm joined by Patrick. How are you doing Patrick?
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm alright.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Brian?
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, how are you doing Granit?
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I am doing like shit, like shite.
[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_05]: We're here to talk about the ass whipping we took from Lucidie up in Lucidie.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_05]: But before we talk about that, I want to talk about something really cool.
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_05]: They got a really nice stadium up there.
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm impressed.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_04]: They do. I mean it's very clear there's certain teams that are trying to make bids for the MLS and kind of grow their city in.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_04]: They are for sure one of those cities. I mean, I was questioning is this a stadium they took over from someone?
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you kind of get these zoom outs and it's like, no, it's very soccer specific.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So nice stadium, great atmosphere, the standing room behind both goals still pretty cool.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And they also set a new record as well with 13,500 plus fans in attendance last night.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm glad we have to come out with that.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it definitely creates a different environment when you have about that many people there.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And it definitely leads the door open for a possible move for that team as now Lexington is getting a team,
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: a USL championship team who's only going to be about 20 miles outside of Louisville.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Good for them.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I could not. Now you could definitely see them moving up though if they were to.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And they get new ownership now too.
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know how many times we got to see a person who has nothing to do with soccer ownership
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_04]: and like understanding of the sport just be showed on TV as a new owner
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: when he invests a little money in a company that invests in a sports group.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the other cool thing is they have the they have a women's side there that place called Racing Louisville FC.
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think they also play in that stadium. So that's pretty cool.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_05]: They got two things going on there. I was hoping that it was a rugby team because racing my throw from Paris.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Anyways, but I think we need to step it up here in Charleston area stadium wise and soccer wise or football wise.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_05]: No, we're gonna call it soccer because what was played Saturday night was just a pure game of soccer.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_05]: We were out coached. We were outplayed when we have a central defender being our number one score
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_05]: and should be our man of the match.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_05]: We should drag our heads in shame. I hope it was a long playing right back for him.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You can count in the first half probably like 30 times that you just saw people standing around staring,
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: hoping their teammate was going to make a play instead of them going to the ball or attacking it.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So pretty embarrassing.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a lot of just sitting there waiting kind of like hoping your teammate was going to make the play.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So they didn't have to get back and still do their job and play as one cohesive unit.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: They were playing very separate as individuals.
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was clearly noted on the field. And whereas Louisville was just staying connected to their system.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You look at in the first half, we stayed pretty collected for the most part.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a different story in the second half.
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I think we talked when we played Louisville City earlier in the year is that they really are a counter attacking a team.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's like we weren't prepared for that.
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And I understand why.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_05]: When you know, we've got two goals of them just I can't remember the guy's name just running past us like we were to stand and still.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_05]: And it was like it was a surprise to us and left poor granny out there kind of on his own.
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_05]: At least this time he didn't get a red card.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's just sad to watch is like.
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I think stats really lied to anyone who looked at a stat sheet for this game because for the most part.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: The battery looked incredibly uncomfortable.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They're used to having possession, they're used to slowing the game down.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And Louisville just had their foot on the gas and like played this high press and constantly ran at us until we gave the ball away.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it got us into a game of not playing how we play.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And we just kind of fell off and fell back.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's almost like we threw our hands up and said, whatever, I guess this one's done 20 minutes into the game.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Was it 20 minutes into the game that we were done?
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'd say as a fan, 20 minutes in, I was about done watching their efforts.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it was 17 minutes we were done.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's when they when Lucidi scored her first goal.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_05]: So, Ryan, what do you think about Graney?
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_05]: What do you think about his play?
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Because he was he was the one kind of receiving in a lot of shots and he looked like he had some spectacular saves.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_05]: And from your point when you yeah, when you're on a team and looks like that, about ready to leak a bunch of goals, how does it feel to be the person getting pummeled?
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely a gut wrenching feeling because you're still wanting to give your all for the team.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And when your team's not reciprocating that on the field, it makes you feel the worst and you feel the most because each time the ball goes in the net, it's it feels like it's 100 percent on you when it's not necessarily because it still has to go through 10 different people to get to you.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, both not both 80 plus minute goals like that late.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's very aggravating as a keeper, especially because you just hold your whole team just gave gives up in that moment.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: First half, though, I thought Graney played very, very well, had quite a few saves from top of the box from shots out facing outside of the box.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was about 40 minutes in.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Graney made two spectacular saves and Louisville had two back to back corner kicks.
[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like as soon as we gave up those corner kicks before halftime, you could just sense that we were just like you said, Graney, we were just so uncomfortable.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And I honestly thought Louisville was about to get another one before halftime.
[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Luckily, they didn't. They hit the woodwork twice, missed two different shots off frame.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Every single one of them could have easily have gone in because either Graney or the defense was just standing there hoping it didn't go in.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then second half, you kind of felt like you're kind of hoping battery could make a push for momentum.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And Louisville just did not let up.
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he kept us in it, right?
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the only reason we even had hope.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it should have been three nil going in halftime.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, you look at the amount of chances and kind of clear cut one v one, two v one chances they had.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I without Graney, there was no hope for a second half comeback.
[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And like you talked about granite and all kind of fell apart eventually.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But I feel like three people played their asses off tonight and it was very evident that it was Graney.
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I really think Icaza was everywhere on the field again.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Graham Smith for like the umpteenth week in a row, the unk son hero sitting in the defense and trying to create space from defense going forward.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: It's really bad that your center back is leading your attack.
[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_05]: I agree with you.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Emilio is always a ball of energy and he's been holding back and staying out of the yellow card trouble.
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_05]: But he brings energy every match, even when we don't play well.
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_05]: And Smith is just a rock.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Leland, he slipped up the first goal come in off of a header he should have done a better challenge on I do believe.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_05]: But I'm going to deem Leland because he's been our he's our captain.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_05]: He's been the rock back there just along with Smith.
[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I think you're right.
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_05]: They just need everyone else needs to step up.
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Everybody else is on our heels watching.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm going to be really hard on on mechanic and everybody thinks he's fantastic.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I think he's OK.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_05]: I think when you get somebody that's within five feet of you and he can't make a shot when he's putting it that wide and he's virtually one on one with the keeper and he's putting it four or five, six feet wide to the left.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_05]: He's got to do better than that.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Not I would like to give a shout out to our subs because they made a difference of energy coming in an actual effort, especially Chapman.
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like one, I don't know how he gets a yellow card for winning the ball on a slide tackle.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And then under 30 seconds later, a Louisville player slide tackles through the back of Nick Markanic and it's just a foul.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: No biggie.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Not not that the whole game was this super biased from the ref, but like there are some pretty consistent plays back to back that weren't called the same, which is very annoying to watch.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think Chapman and Prince actually had some a pretty stellar game for the rest of their teammates, kind of not helping them.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think I know what's that group.
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I said story the better season ref shit.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_05]: They can't score any pressure on them.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, when when when I was watching that little bit and he gave that yellow card to Chapman, I was like he first off, he got the ball.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't do anything reckless or anything of that level.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And I don't know why the referee just decided to do that.
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think this is another if we're going to talk about kind of the floodgates opening at the end.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is a great example of.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you love to attack with your outside backs, but here's a glaring hole where you're asking a center mid to cover segburs or center mid to cover dos Santos like.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_04]: There are two goals they got in 80 plus minutes were just wide open, 30 yards of space, run in on it, take time to control it and have a shot.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's incredibly embarrassing as a second place team right now in the East to see you're just giving up defensive goals that aren't even being challenged.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like someone has to step across besides your center backs.
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: If your outside wing backs are going forward, you can't only rely on a center mid to cover on the outside if he has to cover the entire middle.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there was no shifting from any players in that entire midfield.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's the most embarrassing.
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Marky Mark and I don't know if it's because we're just trying to push forward because we're behind and trying to go more on the tack with that one.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Marky Mark was way up high and he had tried to come back and it took was a Harris or whatever the guy's name was.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_05]: He had two offside calls because he just had to get his timing down.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Then as soon as you got his timing down, he was behind us twice.
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_05]: The other one, Robbie was just kind of left holding the bag there.
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not holding the bag.
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_05]: He wasn't back in position to cover both the players on that side and the guy was wide open again.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_05]: But we've got to play better than that.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you think maybe it's because we're tired?
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_05]: We have two more matches in.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_05]: We played than the other than most of the other teams.
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it we're just getting tired or what?
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think in this game that was the case.
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we came out flat.
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: We stayed flat.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: We never grew a confidence in ourselves that we can come back in it.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Personally, like, yeah, Grinney did an amazing job in the first half keeping us in.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I was 100% surprised I didn't see him screaming his head off at people out there to get back and cover and switch over.
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, where was our leader in this game to put it on his shoulders and start directing people?
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you said it.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a big crowd.
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: There's going to be noise like someone has to step up to the plate here and become that person.
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's a glaring hole that we're missing Maloy in these are like complete situations.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think I think missing Maloy last night was definitely a massive factor.
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Looking into how the game came out and played because as you're I mean, totally right, Pat.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_02]: There was no leader on the field.
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: There was no person taking the full initiative trying to get everybody into it.
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you had a casa, you had Archer, you had certain people doing their job and doing what they're supposed to.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And they were still everywhere at once, but they weren't getting everybody into it.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Not the whole team was in tune.
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's where we come in with the saying that they were flat footed and they remained flat footed for the majority of the game.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a little confused about how we weren't weren't fully prepared for this game.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I can see how the atmosphere and the fans can be one thing.
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But the way the Louisville counterattacks, I mean, we did play them once already this year.
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: They played in the same exact formation.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing's really changed with how they've been playing.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see why, why we folded in the way we did.
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_05]: We had 64, almost 65 percent possession and they had 35.
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_05]: It was clearly their counter attack team.
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_05]: The other thing concerns me is that even though we're sitting in second and they have two games in hand, is that they've only tied twice.
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_05]: They have 17 wins.
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_05]: We only have 14.
[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep, they could potentially if you look at the two games in hand and give them the max points, they're potentially 10 points ahead of us now.
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: If they win those two games in hand, that's that's massive.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know, play them again.
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. And that's not the end of the world because, you know, we just got to be in the playoffs.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_05]: But still, it's nice to be on top of getting the seeds and everything else.
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because last year we were what? We were three, right?
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Going into the playoffs.
[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay. Yeah.
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_05]: And who was it?
[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Somebody lost to put us in Sacramento or wherever that lost that we've put us in where we're at the home games from then on.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't remember exactly which one it was.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you had Pittsburgh lost to Detroit for week one.
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, yeah, the second team, another team lost and we hosted every game throughout.
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was by happenstance.
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want by happenstance.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_05]: We just the right teams lost.
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not like we won ourselves in that position before the playoffs.
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_05]: So what are we going to do? What do we do better?
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I was just going to add on, Granite. Louisville is a scary place.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they're 10 wins.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, after this game, 11 wins and one loss at home this season.
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's not a place you want to hand them the number one seed.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And if you happen to go against them, you're playing in front of this crowd because they will back it up.
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_05]: So we need to avoid Louisville at home if we can.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how we do that.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_05]: But anyways, we've got to be at the end, end of the day, if we're going through going all the way through to win this USL championship, we've got to beat Louisville one more time.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And, you know, if you look at our record, I think we were we'd beat them four times, three times in a row.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_05]: But this looked like was weak effort on our part.
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, Ryan and I talked briefly about Sam Beek.
[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, this is a great game to try him out at center defensive mid.
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe get a little support in front of your line to help cover and not ask too much of Crawford and Allen and these guys to like cover this.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Get someone who's a natural defender, but really good on the ball and have him cover.
[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't just ask guys who are midfielders to try and cover up spaces where you're going to be stretched in.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_04]: The formation, you have to change something at this point in the season.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You can't keep rolling the dice and change absolutely nothing.
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And hey, we'll win a game.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll lose a game in embarrassing fashion.
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I really think Pyramid needs to go back to the drawing board and say, hey, some of these games we need to play a lot differently than we do consistently week in week out.
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not just going to stream our fullbacks up the sides for the entire game.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to hold someone back because they are a counterattack team and they exposed us by doing that.
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_05]: They sure did.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Ryan, Ryan's scratching his chin.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He's trying to think of how we get another goalie in the in the net.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_05]: So let's go ahead.
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_05]: No, he's waving me off.
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Now the video has got a glitch and he's just like shaking his head.
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So nothing we do about last week.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_05]: What we can do about next week is the whole match against Orange County.
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_05]: See, not.
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And they also had a surprising result over the weekend.
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_02]: If anyone noted their game, they had a 1-0 loss to El Paso, who's currently sitting at the bottom of the West.
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, El Paso is five wins on the season, 19 points on the season.
[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to see for them that this next game.
[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to see Peerman maybe switch it up and have the competition go up and play in some different spots.
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe start Prince, maybe start Chapman.
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe start.
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Myers has been playing a lot better, but maybe Nick takes a seat for this one.
[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I think this is the game where you explore beak at CDM.
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this this is his opportunity.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we see the missing holes last game of not playing someone like him at the CDM to fill in for Malloy.
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully they're kind of looking at that void now and thinking, OK, this is a good bounce back game to try that now.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it really is with a home crowd with an advantage like that.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really pulling. That's my one substitution.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really pulling for right there this week.
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Is he that good?
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I always worry. I want to see.
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I want to see. You know, this is a game to test when we bring a player in from a team that's lost their last five matches.
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think that's where he came from was Miami.
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Correct. Yeah.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Kind of makes me sure he's a fine gentleman and he's doing a fantastic job.
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't see why we go and get him and pay for him if we are not going to play him.
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You're just going to pay him just to sit on the bench.
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, because we don't have Palma, because we don't have Palma.
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_05]: They need that third center back.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't see putting them on for 20 minutes as much as archers this fan favorite.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't mind seeing him come off in this last game for the final 20.
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was still a one nil game.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's hard to do that as a coach.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a hindsight 20 20. We can all see that now.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: But I don't know.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Smith ran his ass off and Leland was in front of things, but he's your leader.
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_04]: He needs to start speaking up and getting guys in a position.
[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Now you can also think on the other hand, too, about how hard of a game Graham had.
[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he could easily be shown some time to rest.
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, you don't want to bring a new player in and kind of I don't want to say set them up for failure,
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_05]: but have them playing, you know, in the deep of it, in the battle right.
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_05]: You're kind of your first start.
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I wouldn't think I think you want to bring him in a little team that might be a little easier to conquer.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That's just and that's and that would be this game.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he didn't start last game or didn't really play last game.
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the best team in the league right now.
[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And now you're going against Orange County at home.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: This is this is where you do it.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, bare minimum if you're just trying to rotate some guys.
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is why we keep bringing in to rotate and maybe save some legs for playoffs.
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Why not try out worst case you go back to the same lineup following week?
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And best case you get a 10 out of 10 performance because we got to beat.
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_05]: We got to beat teams like Orange County because they're hurting right now.
[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Coming off a loss, a draw, a loss and a loss.
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_05]: And we can't mess around too much with them and take up a draw from them.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_05]: We already have seven of them this season.
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_05]: We don't need any more winning wins.
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And then if you in Graney, if you just look at it at the same time,
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_02]: you then follow it with San Antonio who beat us last year seven to one embarrassed us at home.
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And we have them the following week in their plane, just like Orange County.
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So once those two games are done with their seven games left in the season,
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the battery are in a position right now where it is every every game is fully matters.
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Even though I already did now, they're in it now because of the playoffs are right around the corner.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is where seeding really comes into play.
[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Fair enough. Yeah, I think it's also tough to pinpoint like one position.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's let's swap this out.
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we just didn't see anything from a lot of the guys in this night.
[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So you can make an argument for about half the team getting getting a sub
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: and maybe seeing a different person in their spot.
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully they just look at this as a huge learning experience and come back.
[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we'll call this the kick in the ass game and see how we respond to it.
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_05]: That's the key thing, right? Is how I respond to it over the next match and the match after that.
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We want to be saying again, I said, is it the awakening?
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to wake up after this.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll find out. We'll see what champions we are.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Right. Because this is what it's going to take. OK.
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Kickoff is at seven thirty.
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Patriots point against Orange County.
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe we might meet up, maybe we won't.
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe we'll have a pint in the pub or something like that.
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_05]: But I'll be ready for it. How about you all?
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is the game we we start doing the the pre pub beer.
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_04]: We needed after this last year.
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we'll talk we'll talk offline which pub it should be.
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Should it be Ryan's house or just Ryan's house?
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's not a bad option.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_04]: As long as you're bringing the supplies.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll go ahead and Google map drop it for everyone.
[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_05]: And we'll let all those listeners know what the house it is.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So you all stop by to all six.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, guys, that's you know, it's a hard match.
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_05]: They're going to happen against a really good team.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: It was at their home stadium. Stadium looked awesome.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_05]: So just chalk this up and see how they respond.
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And we'll see Saturday night.
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, we'll see you out there.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Bye, y'all.
