[00:00:00] Welcome to the Cannon Crue Podcast. I am Gret and I'm joined by Ryan. How are you Ryan?

[00:00:07] I'm good. I've been having a really good day. Just happy to be here.

[00:00:12] Oh man, I'm doing fantastic. Just so close to Thanksgiving. Lots to be thankful for.

[00:00:18] It is. One thing I'll be thankful for, Ryan, you can chime in wherever you want to, is that we get to support our local club, the Battery, and they did a fantastic job this season.

[00:00:28] It wasn't all what we expected, but it was still an amazing journey this whole season. Great to watch all the wins at all the highs and experience the lows.

[00:00:37] Yeah, hats off to the entire team. Like really struggling beginning of the year to even figure out what we were doing or the guys you were going to stick with throughout the season.

[00:00:50] We even lost some guys who just didn't fit in and we really couldn't find playing time for because of the development of our come to know core guys.

[00:01:01] And I don't know, I, this was a special team and little sad for them. We didn't get to that final and get to see them play in it, but couldn't be more proud for a group of guys who came together without really having any playing time.

[00:01:16] I'm super, super proud of these guys. And this was a team that, you know, we ourselves had a giant question mark over them in the beginning of the season.

[00:01:26] How was this team going to respond to last season's theme? How were they going to compare? How are they going to shape up to them?

[00:01:35] As you know, because we had a lot of departures, front three looked entirely different than it was last year.

[00:01:42] And last year, we also had a star boy, you know, we had Fidel Barajas and who eventually went on to go to play for Real Salt Lake.

[00:01:52] Um, this year, you know, no one really, I don't think anyone really expected if someone did prove me wrong, but Nick Markanik shooting out the gun the way he did and earning himself a, uh, you know,

[00:02:07] as fan field play in Europe is a big opportunity that kind of leads into next year.

[00:02:12] You know, we had two seasons of back to back where we had two golden players. You can't tell me Fidel Barajas wasn't a game changer.

[00:02:21] And then you have Nick Markanik the next season, golden boot winner, follow him up.

[00:02:26] You know, that is a giant hole to fill for the battery. And I feel like that's something that they kind of need to evaluate.

[00:02:35] Is this this next season where we kind of take a little step back because we had to fill such a giant role or do we become more complete as a whole team?

[00:02:45] More like Louis shape to Louisville or, you know?

[00:02:49] Yeah, that's a good point, Ryan. And it kind of revolves around keeping that core group of leaders and players together, which the battery are doing.

[00:03:01] Like we're from front to back, kind of our center is staying together.

[00:03:04] And those guys that lead in the front, lead in the midfield and lead in the back are all going to be returning for the 2025 season, except for our starting goalkeeper.

[00:03:17] So, I mean, I think it's exactly what you talk about in Louisville and the teams that develop really well and have these continuous charging seasons of going for a title is keeping these guys together and not letting them go.

[00:03:32] And being able to build off of that and just add these pieces every year around them and get right back to those title games.

[00:03:40] I think right off the bat, we need to discuss the big elephant in the room.

[00:03:45] And that's Nick Markanick.

[00:03:47] USL player of the year.

[00:03:50] And going to Spain and putting off his departure until the end of the season.

[00:03:56] Phenomenal.

[00:03:56] So, I mean, just his goal scorer all throughout the season, his leadership is going to be sorely missed.

[00:04:04] But it's fantastic that we, the batteries produced, you know, somebody's won the golden boot and the player of the year.

[00:04:10] And we'll talk a little later about one or two other players that also made that USL team of the season.

[00:04:19] Let's transition over to the Rhode Island match.

[00:04:25] The atmosphere was fantastic.

[00:04:27] It was electric.

[00:04:28] The stadium was packed.

[00:04:29] People everywhere.

[00:04:31] The parking lot was filled.

[00:04:34] It was just an amazing sight.

[00:04:37] Reminiscent of last year.

[00:04:38] The energy was huge.

[00:04:41] The lines were a little long, but it was great to see us.

[00:04:44] So many people from Charleston out there to watch the battery play.

[00:04:49] Yeah, it was amazing.

[00:04:50] I think I ran over some fireworks on the way in.

[00:04:54] Not sure if they were our supporters or Rhode Island.

[00:04:59] Go to hell.

[00:05:00] But, yeah, it was amazing.

[00:05:04] I think we were there two hours early.

[00:05:06] Little tailgate.

[00:05:07] Blue lot.

[00:05:08] Band bands were playing.

[00:05:10] Drums were banging.

[00:05:11] Flags waving.

[00:05:12] Beers.

[00:05:13] Lots of people.

[00:05:14] I mean, it was a little chilly, but everyone was super stoked and happy to be there.

[00:05:18] Having a great time.

[00:05:20] Gates were open a little earlier.

[00:05:22] Did you guys have the canopy out and everything?

[00:05:25] We did not.

[00:05:26] We were just rolling.

[00:05:27] We were just parked over in the other lot, met up, grabbed beers, put in our pockets, and walked over the blue lot and hung out with a lot of the people from the bridge.

[00:05:35] It's great business.

[00:05:36] Yeah, and then met up with several of the staff members from Edmonds O's Brewing Company and just had a blast.

[00:05:43] That's awesome.

[00:05:44] Doing all the free game stuff.

[00:05:45] And I will, and I don't want to mention it because I don't want to bring it to the highlight.

[00:05:52] But battery leadership, if you're listening, we don't need to allow the opposing teams in our parking lot.

[00:06:02] They need to have them parked their vehicles somewhere else, not in our blue lot where we're having a good time.

[00:06:12] This is the American football where we all hug and have a good time no matter what team you are on.

[00:06:15] That's the enemy.

[00:06:16] And they're parked right there feet away from, and parked for free.

[00:06:21] Moochers parked feet away with their vans and all their drums and everything else from where we were, where most people gather pregame.

[00:06:28] Yeah, I feel like the parking attendants can do a little bit better of a job if they see someone wearing an opposing jersey to just send them to the white lot.

[00:06:40] You know, it's right there, but it's on the backside.

[00:06:43] And it's about the same walking distance to the gate, but it's away from the rest of the crowd where they're either going to get heckled or just going to put people off.

[00:06:55] Yeah, send them to the orc town.

[00:06:56] It's not that far.

[00:06:58] Yeah.

[00:06:58] It's not that far.

[00:07:00] Right.

[00:07:03] Yeah.

[00:07:03] I mean, like I said on the last one, Southern hospitality goes out the door in these playoff matches.

[00:07:09] So we don't need to help out.

[00:07:13] Oh, well, you just look at it all season long.

[00:07:15] The entire yellow lot was always half vacant.

[00:07:18] And then all of a sudden you go into the second round of the playoffs and it's just filled.

[00:07:25] Yeah, we need to keep that energy up next season when we flow into there.

[00:07:30] So the other great highlights from the match, as you all know, Juan David and his wonderful strike from a free kick.

[00:07:42] And it just, I don't know how you get any closer to the, to not going over the goal crossbar or into it because it banged off and went in for a fantastic goal.

[00:07:54] Well, he's got a lot of help watching Malloy in practice as well.

[00:07:58] I mean, he just did it, what, the week before?

[00:08:01] He did.

[00:08:02] He did.

[00:08:04] Yeah.

[00:08:04] Fantastic strike.

[00:08:05] I think he was what, maybe another 12 yards out.

[00:08:08] So.

[00:08:10] I don't know.

[00:08:11] What do you say?

[00:08:12] Nothing but sensational goals from him.

[00:08:15] He doesn't like to score the average goal.

[00:08:17] No tap ins.

[00:08:19] No, he doesn't.

[00:08:20] That's fair.

[00:08:21] Honestly.

[00:08:22] Yeah.

[00:08:23] So, yeah.

[00:08:24] Think about how he started.

[00:08:26] He started out the season, right?

[00:08:28] The shot from halfway line.

[00:08:30] First goal.

[00:08:31] I was against Miami.

[00:08:32] It's getting me a few of them.

[00:08:33] His first goal was from half field, midfield.

[00:08:37] But maybe, maybe he does like them a little easier because he's starting to been moving it in a little closer and closer to that.

[00:08:44] True.

[00:08:45] So, was that ball dropping and it went over the keeper's hand?

[00:08:49] I mean, it just.

[00:08:50] Up and over the keeper's hand and then dropped as soon as it was going over his hand, it dropped.

[00:08:56] Does he have somebody in the stands that is like directing it like a drone or is it that just, is he that good?

[00:09:02] I think he's that good because if he had the drone, that first half hit would have went in as well, which was even like, I don't know, 20 miles an hour faster and like 10 yards further out.

[00:09:14] It still almost went in.

[00:09:15] I mean, that thing had some knuckleball movement on it.

[00:09:19] That thing was very.

[00:09:20] Thank God for the safety nets behind the supporter section.

[00:09:23] Let's say that.

[00:09:25] So, I'm looking at the assist throughout the season and Juan Dividen had seven.

[00:09:32] And this is for the whole league.

[00:09:34] He was third in shots with 89.

[00:09:38] Only three behind Nick.

[00:09:40] So, he's not afraid to take shot.

[00:09:42] And just remember, it took him quite a while to get going.

[00:09:46] It was between him and Gutierrez for most of the season to start.

[00:09:53] Like, who was starting maybe 15 minutes, 10 minutes off the bench.

[00:09:57] And we didn't really know what to expect.

[00:10:00] No one really knew of this guy.

[00:10:01] And I think this is going to be our player to watch out for next season.

[00:10:05] I think so too.

[00:10:07] So, let's go back to the last season.

[00:10:10] And you think back to when Barajas was having his breakout year.

[00:10:15] How was Nick compared to Barajas in that season?

[00:10:20] In my opinion, Nick did okay.

[00:10:23] Like, he did a fair amount of job.

[00:10:25] Got himself into the squad for next year.

[00:10:28] And then he exploded.

[00:10:31] Torres breaks himself into the squad this year.

[00:10:34] Only scores sensational goals next year.

[00:10:36] Do you think he just does the work and becomes the number one go-to guy?

[00:10:42] I think...

[00:10:43] I mean, I feel like he has the opportunity to.

[00:10:46] I like where your head's at.

[00:10:48] I think it helped having Nick up there to kind of take that pressure off.

[00:10:54] And also, MD up top, who was kind of sharing it with Nick when they went on that great run of, like, what?

[00:11:00] 10, 15 games in a row.

[00:11:02] Just one of them scoring, you're getting an assist.

[00:11:05] So, I think that helps.

[00:11:07] But if we can build a little bit more around him and get that support in a couple bench players that can come off as well.

[00:11:14] And keep kind of that high pace and draw the defender's eye to them.

[00:11:19] And open it up a little bit for Juan David.

[00:11:22] I think probably...

[00:11:24] How many...

[00:11:25] You said seven assists?

[00:11:26] I think he'd do double digits next year.

[00:11:29] How many goals did he have this year?

[00:11:31] He had eight?

[00:11:32] Yeah, he had eight.

[00:11:33] So, he hit the one more goal and he did assist.

[00:11:36] And put him about 31 in the league.

[00:11:42] In goal contributions.

[00:11:44] So, you definitely see him having 25-plus goal contributions next season.

[00:11:50] Yeah.

[00:11:50] And so, if you just look at chances created, Aaron Malloy was fourth in the league with 73.

[00:11:57] And the next battery player was Juan David with 57.

[00:12:02] And you gotta remember, we didn't have Jay Chapman either.

[00:12:05] Who's fantastic with his vision and placement of the ball.

[00:12:09] So, if he's staying, bump those numbers up even more.

[00:12:14] Unfortunately, announced today, Jay Chapman will be leaving and headed back to Hartford.

[00:12:20] We only had him on loan until the end of the season.

[00:12:22] So, he's going back to Hartford.

[00:12:24] Bastards.

[00:12:25] Yeah.

[00:12:26] He did not have an option to buy.

[00:12:28] Same thing with Samuel Beak.

[00:12:29] Samuel Beak returned to Miami as well.

[00:12:31] Are there little teams going back to Miami?

[00:12:32] The keepers.

[00:12:34] That's the reason why Ryan's on here.

[00:12:36] About Grinny's last match.

[00:12:39] How did he do?

[00:12:40] In your eyes, from a keeper's perspective.

[00:12:44] I think Grinny did his job and did absolutely sensational.

[00:12:48] His footwork, you can tell throughout the season, has just gotten sharper.

[00:12:53] And he was prepared for this game.

[00:12:56] I just don't think he was thinking he was going to get work the way he did.

[00:13:01] Having to make as many extension dives and kick saves.

[00:13:08] And even shots that didn't even hit the framework, but still getting his butt across the frame to be there in case if anything happened.

[00:13:16] It takes a toll on a keeper.

[00:13:18] And I feel for him mentally.

[00:13:21] And it saddens me to see him hang up the baits after that.

[00:13:26] You want to see him continue.

[00:13:27] You want to see him get that last troceeing.

[00:13:29] Go out on the high note.

[00:13:31] And you can feel that too.

[00:13:32] That that's what he was going for.

[00:13:35] But you know, age of 32, goalkeeper at the Pearl League.

[00:13:41] It's about all you can ask for it.

[00:13:43] And wish him all the best.

[00:13:46] I had Ken Cleansheet.

[00:13:47] The number one in the league had 15.

[00:13:50] And I think Grinny was out.

[00:13:52] How many matches this season?

[00:13:55] Grinny should have been out.

[00:13:56] He was out five.

[00:13:58] Five total.

[00:14:00] Yeah, and of those, I think he, Kuz, when he come in, he had a couple of clean sheets there.

[00:14:07] Oh, Grin, no, that's what happened.

[00:14:09] Grinny got injured, and then he also got the red card.

[00:14:14] Yeah, so I think, Grinny, what you're talking about is that run, kind of that run midsummer where we were just literally on fire scoring at will.

[00:14:25] And he got injured, which was controversial, right?

[00:14:29] That was the injury in added, added time, where he busted his face up.

[00:14:36] And then Kuz came in and got like three or four clean sheets in a row.

[00:14:41] Yep.

[00:14:42] Well, it was just this year.

[00:14:44] Grinny did fantastic, and he did his part.

[00:14:48] But when it comes to that final, again and again, the ball has to go through all 11 players before he gets to the keeper.

[00:14:56] Yes, you can say as much as you want, but just one kick and you beat two guys, you beat three guys, and it just keeps going.

[00:15:03] Yeah, and our battery next year, I think, have a fantastic, fantastic headway above a lot of teams in this league by maintaining their entire defensive core.

[00:15:15] Well, I mean, even in this last game against Rhode Island, like, they had three or four clear chances to get ahead, and he kept us in the game.

[00:15:24] I mean, we should have been losing by more than two goals.

[00:15:30] And again, time and time, we say it all season long, he kept us in this game, gave us the opportunity to get ahead, which I thought for the first 20 minutes, we were going to be ahead.

[00:15:42] I mean, we were attacking, attacking, attacking, playing our style football.

[00:15:48] It just didn't go in.

[00:15:50] I don't think it was our team, like, kind of taking off the gas, so to say.

[00:15:58] But it just, we didn't end up breaking them down enough to get that final little goal or the follow-up shot from the keeper.

[00:16:06] I mean, their keeper had a great game, too.

[00:16:08] And sorry, I was trying to look up Graney's numbers for this last match.

[00:16:13] Dude, dude, there they are.

[00:16:15] Six saves.

[00:16:17] And all six of them were pretty good saves.

[00:16:19] Graney, he's going to be missed next season, but I think he's done a great job, and he did a great job this last match.

[00:16:26] You were going to Graham Smith, right?

[00:16:29] Another stud at the back for us.

[00:16:31] Really filled in, even with Leland not getting these starts in the final couple games.

[00:16:35] Like, loved it.

[00:16:37] What more can you ask?

[00:16:38] Graham Smith.

[00:16:40] Who is that?

[00:16:41] Who's Graham Smith?

[00:16:42] The defender player of the year.

[00:16:43] He is the defender.

[00:16:45] You always say all the defender player of the year.

[00:16:47] That's fantastic.

[00:16:48] So we have the player of the year, and then we have the defender player of the year, all on one team.

[00:16:54] And his passing stats look like midfielder of the year as well.

[00:16:58] Second in the league with 2,260 passes.

[00:17:05] So he's second in the league in passes, and he's a center back?

[00:17:09] Is he?

[00:17:09] You're telling me that right?

[00:17:11] That's exactly what I'm telling you.

[00:17:12] Well, I'm just sliding the thing for you to rubber.

[00:17:16] That's crazy.

[00:17:16] That's real exciting, especially him coming back and bartering up with Leland next year.

[00:17:21] You know, he keeps moving in healthy.

[00:17:23] Yeah, it's almost name.

[00:17:25] Yeah.

[00:17:25] It's going to be exciting to watch next year after having a year played already in that back line.

[00:17:29] That back line is just going to be more ruthless next year.

[00:17:32] And so, you know, who was fit with passes was Aaron with 2,095.

[00:17:41] And he was out.

[00:17:42] How many matches?

[00:17:43] Seemed like half the season.

[00:17:45] Well, if only we could just pass it into the net.

[00:17:48] That's all that's left.

[00:17:49] That's what we need to do.

[00:17:50] We need to do better about passing it into the net.

[00:17:53] I think, man, if we could have had that form that we had in July and carried that into just started that run a little later in the season.

[00:18:03] Obviously, we needed the points.

[00:18:05] We needed to finish where we finished.

[00:18:06] But we said it before.

[00:18:08] The playoffs are a one and done.

[00:18:10] It doesn't matter what your seed is.

[00:18:12] Everyone brings it.

[00:18:13] And if we could have just had that form, I mean, it was like that tiki-taka high-press style.

[00:18:19] The ball just flowed around and goals were just going in.

[00:18:23] Man, that was a phenomenal time to watch.

[00:18:26] And the boys tried their damnedest out there to get it.

[00:18:30] I'll say that.

[00:18:32] So we had a fantastic season.

[00:18:34] But let's talk about what you're talking about, Patrick.

[00:18:37] Because we, several matches ago, we watched some rotation before playoffs started.

[00:18:44] And there was much discussion about, is that the right thing to do?

[00:18:48] Or is it having good form going into the playoffs?

[00:18:50] Is that the better way to approach it?

[00:18:54] Now, looking back, what do we think?

[00:18:58] That's a fine line to skirt.

[00:19:00] Or, I mean, we'd be sitting here arguing Pyramid was an idiot if Markannic or Myers or Malloy got injured during that span.

[00:19:10] I mean, hell, we did it without Leland for most of the playoffs.

[00:19:14] Him just kind of coming off the bench a little bit.

[00:19:16] Like, that's hard enough.

[00:19:18] And none of that was down to just overuse.

[00:19:22] So, yeah.

[00:19:24] I mean, you can't look back and say, what ifs?

[00:19:29] I think it was the right choice.

[00:19:31] Kind of get some other guys involved and build their confidence up.

[00:19:34] Because we really needed the whole squad for these games.

[00:19:39] I still go back to the point where, you know, three players.

[00:19:43] It's a three-player rule for a reason that you substitute at one time.

[00:19:49] And you don't go really above that when you're still trying to chase.

[00:19:54] As you saw, Louisville didn't do that.

[00:19:57] We did it.

[00:19:59] Louisville didn't do it.

[00:20:00] And Louisville still beat us by 11 points.

[00:20:04] We weren't necessarily chasing after Louisville for the one seed.

[00:20:06] Yet, they continued to put their starting lineup out there.

[00:20:09] They only rotated.

[00:20:10] It was two to three guys in their starting lineup that they would rotate and switch out.

[00:20:15] Outside of that, there wasn't a whole lot of change to their starting lineups.

[00:20:20] But some could argue because they lost to Rhode Island as well.

[00:20:24] Like, didn't work out for them using all their starters.

[00:20:28] So, I mean, it's kind of that, like I said, fine line.

[00:20:31] And how do you really say one way or the other?

[00:20:33] I wish we would have seen a little more of our, like, Zeke Soto's and stuff like that.

[00:20:38] Because maybe it's that bench player coming off you can have a little more hope for to kind of build that.

[00:20:44] Like, M.D. Myers coming off as a huge, like, fans thinking we're going to get that equalizer.

[00:20:49] We're going to get a goal.

[00:20:51] And, like, I just wish we had one more or two more guys that got a lot more playing time leading up to it.

[00:20:56] Where we can have that confidence in a scenario which we found ourselves in.

[00:21:04] If you look at the last five matches for all the teams, we're a win, draw, loss, draw, win.

[00:21:12] If you look at Rhode Island, they're a win, win, draw, draw, win.

[00:21:18] Right?

[00:21:19] So, you're thinking, ah, maybe rotation's a good way to go.

[00:21:22] If you look at Colorado, they had a draw, a loss, a loss, a win, and a win.

[00:21:28] So, they weren't in very good form coming in here except for the last two matches.

[00:21:32] They had two losses back-to-back.

[00:21:36] So, it's hard to tell.

[00:21:38] Yeah, I mean, what?

[00:21:39] It comes down to win the playoff game.

[00:21:41] You just got to win the damn game or you go home.

[00:21:45] That's what it comes down to.

[00:21:46] And you're right, I think we wish we had some, maybe one or two other impact players that could get some time that could sub in that really changed the direction of our team when they come in.

[00:21:59] And we don't necessarily have that because we started out with a small bench.

[00:22:02] And we really didn't get people playing time that might have been impact players.

[00:22:09] But who knows?

[00:22:11] I was hoping Beak was one, but.

[00:22:15] Yeah, I mean, maybe we should just put Graham Smith up top the last 20 minutes.

[00:22:21] Let him just stand in there.

[00:22:23] And, I mean, we're a great team with crossing the ball.

[00:22:26] Our wingers are excellent at that.

[00:22:29] Our center mids are excellent at that.

[00:22:32] Maybe we just need some, like, 6'5", 6'6 guy that we can just shove up there at the end of a game and boot it in at them.

[00:22:41] And it was the guy from Stoke that used to be able to play for Stoke.

[00:22:44] Used to be able to put a Crouch.

[00:22:47] So, yeah, so that game, it didn't end the way we wanted it to.

[00:22:50] It was a great time, though.

[00:22:51] A lot of energy, even up to the final seconds.

[00:22:55] Everybody was still in the match.

[00:22:56] It wasn't like a lot of people leaving.

[00:22:58] And it kind of topped off a fantastic season.

[00:23:01] There's a lot of other teams that didn't make it as far as we did.

[00:23:04] Last year, we won the Eastern Conference final.

[00:23:07] And this year, we played in it, and we didn't.

[00:23:10] But there's a bunch of other teams out there who wish they were in our position.

[00:23:15] How much hope sitting there?

[00:23:16] Like, the fans didn't lose hope.

[00:23:19] You could see it in the players.

[00:23:21] We all thought the equalizer was coming for about 20, 25 minutes straight.

[00:23:25] Like, that place was so loud.

[00:23:28] It was deafening.

[00:23:30] Like, chants were going, stomping, everything.

[00:23:32] It was awesome.

[00:23:33] I would not trade that experience.

[00:23:35] I mean, we lost the game, but I would not trade that experience in that moment for anything.

[00:23:41] Yeah, I agree with you.

[00:23:45] And the main guy's coming back.

[00:23:47] Coach Pearman's coming back.

[00:23:49] So, we can look forward to another run.

[00:23:51] He gets theโ€”I don't know how he does it.

[00:23:53] He gets these guys to just rake into this amazing form or, like, find themselves and become these great footballers that they have the talent to be.

[00:24:05] I'm excited to see who he does it with next year.

[00:24:07] Some guy we've never heard of.

[00:24:09] And we're going to getโ€”I don't know.

[00:24:12] You say, like, lightning doesn't strike twice.

[00:24:14] Well, it did for us with Fidel and now Nick.

[00:24:18] Now, who are we adding to the list next year?

[00:24:22] Let's talk about next year, right?

[00:24:24] Let's touch on some of the players that are staying, some of the players that may or may not be staying.

[00:24:32] We know that Nick, I hate going off to greener pastures, and I look forward to watching his career take off even further from where it is here.

[00:24:42] When he's in the finals or whatever league he's in over there, I look forward to all three of us tripping on the plane and going to watch him play.

[00:24:48] And the C.B. Castillo kit.

[00:24:51] So, who else are we keeping?

[00:24:52] Who else is going?

[00:24:55] Well, I think a key player who the battery have just decided to bring back, Chris Allen.

[00:25:04] Re-sign Chris Allen to a multi-year deal.

[00:25:06] He's been with the club.

[00:25:08] He just had his second season with the club.

[00:25:11] I think he proved himself to the entire team this year of why he would be still in this lineup.

[00:25:16] And I have no problems with that.

[00:25:20] I think he deserves his contract.

[00:25:23] Chris Allen, I don't know if there's a player on the team that has shown such versatility that he has.

[00:25:31] He's played in the men field all season.

[00:25:35] Then all of a sudden, we have some injury problems.

[00:25:37] And he ends up as a left back throughout the whole playoffs and does a phenomenal job.

[00:25:44] It's like he was, that was his natural position.

[00:25:47] It wasn't like it was the weak forward of ours.

[00:25:50] Matter of fact, I think he might have stricken this at a lot of times.

[00:25:53] And it was just fantastic to see that he's staying with us.

[00:25:56] But also, because he adds so much to the team, he's just not a single position player, obviously.

[00:26:00] But along with Nate sliding over a center back, those two showed their ability to play multiple positions, which I think is key.

[00:26:10] Especially to a team that has a small roster.

[00:26:13] I think to your point, it's not even just his ability to play those extra roles.

[00:26:19] But Pierman probably relies on him as that guidance to the other players or like the role model of, hey, you may not get the opportunity at the role you're playing in on my team.

[00:26:31] But if someone goes down in another position, I can rely on you and I can look at you to fill that and you're going to perform.

[00:26:38] I will continue to pick you.

[00:26:40] And I mean, that speaks volumes.

[00:26:42] This guy is amazing.

[00:26:43] He's a great team guy, locker room guy.

[00:26:46] I think every single player coming into this 2025 squad can look in that and say, hey, even if my position's pretty full, I may get an opportunity somewhere else to shine.

[00:26:59] Yeah, and Aaron's staying too.

[00:27:01] And so that pairing also, when they're in midfield, our best form is when those two are in midfield at the beginning of the season.

[00:27:10] And to keep both of them inside the fold, fantastic.

[00:27:13] Now, like we already mentioned, you know, we have Brinney going out.

[00:27:19] So we have a keeper to replace our entire defense, of course, staying put.

[00:27:24] And then for the midfield, you have Maloy and Chris Allen coming back.

[00:27:30] Akaz is the only one in contract talks right now.

[00:27:34] Yeah.

[00:27:34] So what do we do with it, Emilio?

[00:27:36] What's he holding out for?

[00:27:37] Oh, you throw, you throw the bag at him.

[00:27:39] You throw everything.

[00:27:42] He wants.

[00:27:44] He's like Torres.

[00:27:46] He brings a different level of energy and a different dynamic that other players know.

[00:27:51] I don't think, I don't think, I think the battery realize, and I hope they don't pull a New York Giants here and regret letting him go if they do.

[00:28:05] Like the New York Giants, the owner knew, he knew he was going to regret it if Saquon Barkley left and he went to the Eagles.

[00:28:15] Well, guess what?

[00:28:15] He left, he went to the Eagles and he absolutely balled out.

[00:28:18] He's been balling out all season.

[00:28:20] And I feel like if Akaza is to leave the battery, he's going to, he's going to do, he's going to turn a program around wherever he goes.

[00:28:29] And if he leaves, I think the battery's fan base will also kind of take a fit too, due to the fact of how much Akaza meant to the community.

[00:28:41] I think he, without even having that much of an impact.

[00:28:43] I think he's going to resign.

[00:28:45] I think it'll be quick too.

[00:28:47] I think he'll spend some time with some family, his wife, his dog.

[00:28:52] And I think by the weekend, we'll see that post.

[00:28:56] We'll see him coming back.

[00:28:57] Like there's unfinished business here for a lot of these players.

[00:29:02] Let's put it that way.

[00:29:05] If you bring, if you bring Akaza back, the only question mark becomes is on the outside wingers.

[00:29:10] It's in the outside ring war winger role where Nick Markanik was.

[00:29:15] Yeah, I don't think Torres can really fill that role as much as kind of he was playing.

[00:29:22] Do you guys?

[00:29:23] Well, Torres could be on the other side or I mean, vice versa.

[00:29:26] He can be on either side, but there's still one side you have to replace.

[00:29:29] Torres fills a different space too.

[00:29:32] His main area is right around outside the 18-yard box where Nick operated very well inside the 18-yard box.

[00:29:41] Torres could carry the ball forward where Nick was more a couple of touches and take a shot.

[00:29:46] So it's totally different style.

[00:29:47] Yeah, Torres played like a false, almost like a false nine winger, whereas he kind of tucked in the inside.

[00:29:53] So he could be more like top of the box and making more runs inside.

[00:29:59] Whereas Nick played more of the high nine, but out on the wide, of course, trying to play with MD at a high level or at a high point in the field.

[00:30:08] And then Nick was famous for getting behind and getting the goals inside the 18-yard box.

[00:30:16] Now with MD playing so high, I mean, I think that's the kind of person you'd almost need is another person who would go high, but also has the ability to play up underneath.

[00:30:29] Battery have an opportunity here to kind of change the scripts with whoever they sign.

[00:30:34] But it's a massive opportunity for Torres and MD this season because one of them two is going to take off this year.

[00:30:42] And I think they both know it.

[00:30:43] It's going to be a lot of pressure, but they know it and they want it.

[00:30:47] I think that guy we're looking for is sitting on our bench in Zeke Soto.

[00:30:52] I mean, you're describing him perfectly.

[00:30:54] A guy who's very versatile, who wants to get in and score the goals, but who can be out wide and kind of bring that ball in.

[00:31:03] And a whole offseason with this coaching staff and these creative playmakers behind him, he's just going to continue to grow and hopefully flourish.

[00:31:13] And I think that's going to be the guy next year that is going to be our difference maker that we didn't expect.

[00:31:19] Yep.

[00:31:20] And, you know, with MD.

[00:31:22] Love it.

[00:31:22] Because MD plays that different role, right?

[00:31:24] He's kind of the, I don't want to say holding kind of four, but his experience and his ability.

[00:31:33] Nick, I don't think Nick would have been as successful without MD and vice versa.

[00:31:39] And I think the Soto playing off of Nick and Torres, he's going to do a fantastic job.

[00:31:45] I wish he had more minutes in his legs this season, but we'll see.

[00:31:49] And he also had part of that this past season to sit behind and see Nick Markanik and see how he kind of played in his play style and kind of learn from him before his exit.

[00:32:01] So there's just another positive note that we can hopefully get from him going into next year.

[00:32:11] And the players who are retaining you have a lot of experience, Sid.

[00:32:13] Think about Segbers, Aaron, Graham Smith, Leland.

[00:32:23] They bring a level of experience to they've won trophies themselves that helps with these younger players coming through.

[00:32:29] Give the guidance and teach them when to calm down, when they get excited.

[00:32:34] That kind of stuff.

[00:32:35] Great locker room stuff.

[00:32:36] Now, I know we touched on it for like a brief second, but can we really focus on how spectacular it is to bring back your entire defensive line?

[00:32:47] And not have to switch it up and be like, oh shit, we got to fill a key role.

[00:32:53] How is he going to fit in with the other guys?

[00:32:55] Like, this is amazing.

[00:32:57] I'm a defender by heart, but this is amazing.

[00:33:00] I think it's a fantastic point.

[00:33:04] Because what we're talking about earlier was who's going to fill in Nick's spot?

[00:33:08] Who's going to fill in those forward spots?

[00:33:09] What we weren't talking about is who's filling in.

[00:33:11] We don't need to buy and bring in players for defense.

[00:33:14] We don't need to buy and bring in players necessarily, except for Amelia's position for midfield.

[00:33:19] So the focus can really be on replacing, you know, enhancing the forwards.

[00:33:26] But yeah, and I still think that you still shop around for the defensive help because you still want to sign one more defensive guy to have on your bench and to be another pivotal player.

[00:33:38] Because as we learned from the season, you know, injuries happen.

[00:33:41] And I think we relied too much on forwards on our bench rather than having more defenders.

[00:33:47] And I think Pearman's going to have more of the defensive approach next year.

[00:33:52] Could be very likely.

[00:33:55] But he's going to have a fun time shopping around this year.

[00:33:59] It's a different look.

[00:34:01] We've, you know, been to two conference finals back-to-back.

[00:34:04] Hosted both of them.

[00:34:06] And I think a lot of players who are shopping around during free agency currently, they know that about the battery.

[00:34:14] And they know that the battery are going to be there again next year.

[00:34:18] And they want to be a part of it.

[00:34:19] I would almost expect to sign a bigger name goalkeeper.

[00:34:23] Because that guy's going to come in knowing he has this season vet line.

[00:34:29] He doesn't have to rework it and, like, yell at guys to position.

[00:34:34] Like, they're going to know.

[00:34:35] That's why I'm kind of eyeing the MLS right now in seeing if someone out there, there's a keeper.

[00:34:44] There is two current keepers right now who are kind of looking for a change.

[00:34:49] And if they were to step away of their contract, they would have to play outside of MLS for a season or two.

[00:34:54] And maybe that's their chance for the battery.

[00:34:56] To sign one of those players and bring him down for a season.

[00:35:00] Because you go from, again, you go from the battery last season where they had Trey Muse.

[00:35:04] And he went to Portland Embers the next season.

[00:35:07] And then you have Adam Krenowitz who came from Orlando.

[00:35:10] I mean, two top-notch keepers who both had excellent careers or is having excellent careers.

[00:35:18] The battery are going to do so well with this goalkeeper choice.

[00:35:23] Can I put a name out that I would want?

[00:35:26] If you have a name, I didn't say my names because I don't want to throw them out there.

[00:35:32] But if you want a name to throw out there, I want to hear it.

[00:35:33] Brad Guzon.

[00:35:35] Hands down.

[00:35:36] That would be incredible.

[00:35:40] That would be a sight to see.

[00:35:43] Yeah, I think we might have a player that Ryan would stop drooling over MD for a jersey and finally switch over.

[00:35:51] Maybe.

[00:35:54] Looking at a team comparison between the battery in Rhode Island and Colorado,

[00:36:02] we conceded less goals than either one of those teams.

[00:36:07] We had more clean sheets.

[00:36:08] And they played an extra match that we did.

[00:36:12] We faced less shots, which I'm assuming when you see there's less shots being faced,

[00:36:17] that means our defense is doing their job and they're not even getting in to take shots.

[00:36:22] We faced less shots by 123 versus Rhode Island and Colorado switchbacks at a 146 and 144.

[00:36:32] By just looking at those stats, it kind of indicates that our defense is pretty solid

[00:36:38] as compared to the people going to the finals.

[00:36:41] Yeah.

[00:36:41] And that's what's going to speak a lot for next year because you've had more than half of our defense was new.

[00:36:47] You had Senbers, Dos Santos, Graham.

[00:36:50] New to us.

[00:36:51] New to us.

[00:36:52] New to us.

[00:36:53] Exactly.

[00:36:54] New to our system.

[00:36:55] New to Ben Pierman.

[00:36:56] Coach Pierman.

[00:36:57] And next year, that's where I was saying, they're going to take it a step further.

[00:37:02] They're going to intensify it and they're going to be more ruthless.

[00:37:05] You're going to have more of an iron wall back there.

[00:37:09] I hope so.

[00:37:11] You'd hope so.

[00:37:12] Yeah.

[00:37:12] We mentioned it multiple times over the year.

[00:37:14] Just that lapse of judgment or that lapse of energy, either entering a half or coming into a half.

[00:37:23] And that's when we've gotten scored on the most this year from just like these silly mistakes that just come from a lack of energy or a lack of awareness.

[00:37:31] And I mean, that's got to be nipped in the butt for this next year because that single-handedly would get us to a number one position and maybe facing not a weaker opponent, but a lesser strengthened squad, let's say.

[00:37:49] Let's move from our back four, five, six, because Nate DeSanto's coming back.

[00:37:55] I think he's an awesome player too.

[00:37:57] I think he came in this season and I'm not convinced he was paid to be a starter, but he proved throughout the season, not just be a starter, but be somebody we rely on.

[00:38:09] But Arturo Rodriguez is coming back too.

[00:38:12] How does he fit into this whole midfield?

[00:38:15] So we talked a little bit about Torres and we can talk all day about Torres.

[00:38:21] I think he's a phenomenal player.

[00:38:22] He just, he hasn't hit his stride yet.

[00:38:25] Losing Nick, kind of that winger forward.

[00:38:27] How does Arturo fit into that?

[00:38:29] I think he was a great substitute for Akaza when Akaza had come off and brought the season.

[00:38:36] He had his highs and he had his lows.

[00:38:38] I felt like I was a bit harder than him during his lows, but he's coming back for another season.

[00:38:45] And I think it adds more.

[00:38:47] It obviously adds more depth to our midfield, but it's more of our central midfield.

[00:38:51] And that's where we do need that help right now because we do not have Akaza signed.

[00:38:55] I feel like, again, the moment we sign Akaza, we're going all out for those two positions that we have left at Bill, which is the goalkeeper and that winger position.

[00:39:06] And, yeah.

[00:39:08] But the battery definitely have some money left laying around with a few of their sales going to happen.

[00:39:15] Better about a cute hand.

[00:39:17] Was that the battery barking in the background?

[00:39:19] I think so.

[00:39:20] Then they came knocking on my door.

[00:39:24] Granted, I think in regards to Arturo, what I've learned from this season is that he is best in certain situations.

[00:39:36] And we've kind of learned that about a lot of these fringe players.

[00:39:40] And I think we just need to understand what are the best games to play them?

[00:39:44] What are the best teams to start them and use them?

[00:39:48] Because they don't fit in every scenario.

[00:39:50] That's football.

[00:39:51] That's just tactics.

[00:39:52] That's how teams work.

[00:39:53] You have to adjust week in, week out.

[00:39:56] I think he's a phenomenal player.

[00:39:58] He was one of those that we counted on so heavily in the early season.

[00:40:03] And then just later on, we kind of not really dogged him or forgot about him, but like other people were shining more.

[00:40:12] And I think he's going to make aโ€”he has to.

[00:40:15] He has to make a big leap if he wants to be that guy that we talk about, like Malloy,

[00:40:19] or now that we talk about Juan David, or even M.D. Myers up top, like these guys that solidify their position.

[00:40:26] He needs to adapt a little bit so he can be the select person and not have an so-and-so off game against certain opponents.

[00:40:37] But like for the team, this is aโ€”it's almost like getting a new signing, right?

[00:40:43] Like he's going to bring so much and he's going to learn even more and come back a different player than what we saw this past season,

[00:40:50] which is justโ€”it's just going to be even better for the battery next year and for the young players to learn from.

[00:40:57] You think there was a reason why we didn't see a lot of Soto this year?

[00:41:01] It's probably just the guys gelling together so much and going on this playoff run and into it

[00:41:06] that you don't want to kind of disrupt what's happening.

[00:41:09] Like we also have behind-the-scenes videos from the batteries, posts and stuff.

[00:41:14] I mean, he's fit into the club. The guys love him.

[00:41:17] But he's kind of that little brother right now, right?

[00:41:21] Like we'll get a lot more playing time next season.

[00:41:23] We'll get to see a lot more of him and he'll start to grow and develop as a player with these guys.

[00:41:28] And I think that's probably what Pierman relies on the most, like the trust that you can have for your teammates.

[00:41:35] And I don't think he's just there yet coming in so late to our team.

[00:41:39] Maybe he had a multi-year contract.

[00:41:41] He had time to develop and not necessarily get playments because of Pierman and everybody knew that he was coming back next season.

[00:41:48] Yeah, like one of those for the future signings, right?

[00:41:52] Yeah.

[00:41:53] Now, do you see the battery taking advantage of this academy and seeing them sign a lot more academy players going into the season?

[00:42:00] Yeah, let's talk about that because at the beginning of the season, we had several academy players.

[00:42:04] I'm sick.

[00:42:05] Yeah, it didn't seem like any of them panned out, really.

[00:42:08] Do we do more of that?

[00:42:10] I mean, we have to, right?

[00:42:11] All these new rules and they're allowed to have extra bench players for academy kids.

[00:42:17] We have to expand a little bit.

[00:42:20] Well, I feel like the battery are in a unique position and it's also kind of difficult because you're in a position where you can bring in these college kids and have them for the summer or have them for a good bit of time and play for you and get per minute.

[00:42:38] And it's all beneficial.

[00:42:40] It's all in the players favor.

[00:42:41] The downside is that we are in an area that does not have college summer soccer.

[00:42:51] And for those fans listening out there, what I mean by that is, is that here in Charleston, we don't have an NPSL team.

[00:42:58] We don't have a USL League 2 team or League 1 team.

[00:43:02] We don't have, I think the only thing that we are current, that Charleston is currently participating in is UPSL, which is a league lower than NPSL.

[00:43:14] I feel like, you know, we step it up a little bit in the Charleston area, allow an NPSL team to be formed here in Charleston.

[00:43:22] And you will see the fraction that college kids will be coming in and stuff and that's the chance for the battery to take a look and have another pool to pull from.

[00:43:34] Hey, Ryan, quickly explain NPSL and that they're amateur teams.

[00:43:42] NPSL is an amateur league where they're solely play a summer season.

[00:43:48] When I was playing summer soccer in college, I played first Charlottesville Lions.

[00:43:53] Our season went from beginning of May to the end of July.

[00:43:58] And you have the national tournament during that time as well.

[00:44:01] You'll play about eight games yourself.

[00:44:03] But during that time, it allows you to meet players from all over.

[00:44:07] Whereas, you know, I didn't play with like a lot of guys from UVA who are D1 who've played for Fort Mason.

[00:44:13] And you also played D3.

[00:44:15] There's a few players who played D3 as well.

[00:44:17] I played D2.

[00:44:18] So you had a great mix of guys from all over.

[00:44:21] And it was a great, great, it was a different experience meeting those guys.

[00:44:26] But when you have them coming from all over into an area, they need money and a better, no better way to have them earn money than by doing what they love.

[00:44:36] And it's by coaching and by teaching side for the kids.

[00:44:38] So then that also thrives our community here in Charleston as well.

[00:44:43] By having kids more involved, more connected with college players, more players from outside of the Charleston area teaching soccer.

[00:44:50] And then you also have another pool of players that the battery can pull from as well.

[00:44:54] So it's very beneficial.

[00:44:57] But it just, you know, it's one of those things that Charleston soccer needs to take a look at.

[00:45:02] Now is it unheard of to have, say, not like a battery specific academy, but say battery affiliated academy, not here in Charleston, maybe in Columbia or somewhere that's more accessible for more kids and more just eyes on the game and like easier for travel and stuff.

[00:45:26] Is that doable?

[00:45:28] You would.

[00:45:30] That is doable.

[00:45:30] And that's what you see in a lot of sports.

[00:45:32] For example, you see in NHL for those hockey fans out there.

[00:45:37] I don't know.

[00:45:37] You know, there may not be a lot of hockey fans to listen to this, but in hockey, you'll have like, for example, the Washington Capitals or in Washington, D.C.

[00:45:46] Their affiliate club is the Charleston Singers.

[00:45:49] So two states away, completely differently.

[00:45:52] They'll send players down.

[00:45:53] They'll pull players up.

[00:45:55] And in baseball as well, they have that very similar style as well, where they'll have three teams and below them.

[00:46:03] But Charleston, instead of outsourcing, they can take the shortcut out and send it and have a team out there like Greenville, like Greenville Triumph.

[00:46:11] You have Columbia there.

[00:46:13] Those were all those teams.

[00:46:14] But Charleston itself does not have that team where the battery can make, can create that or somebody else can come in and create that.

[00:46:22] Because right now, it's not a lot to create an NPSL team.

[00:46:25] It's $10,000.

[00:46:26] I've been looking into it myself.

[00:46:28] And $10,000 buys you a team into that league for the season.

[00:46:33] The only problem is it's trying to find that field.

[00:46:35] But a lot of these teams on NPSL, they all play out of high schools.

[00:46:40] Maybe that sounds like a really good discussion for us to get in this offseason.

[00:46:45] Yeah.

[00:46:46] Maybe talk a little bit more about how we can develop some youth talent or even get a few more people out there looking around.

[00:46:53] Because it's not that we're not scouting people.

[00:46:56] Juan David came out of nowhere this past year.

[00:46:58] I'm good.

[00:46:59] He's a great talent.

[00:47:00] He's what, 22?

[00:47:03] 23?

[00:47:04] 23?

[00:47:05] Yeah, 23.

[00:47:06] So we're just talking about maybe looking into a different level of talent, the 17 to 20 range or something.

[00:47:16] Yeah.

[00:47:16] A little more, which, I mean, it sounds awesome.

[00:47:19] And that's exactly what it is because you also have people like who came out of the waterworks like Fidel Brajas, you know, 17 years old, went straight to the battery.

[00:47:27] And he didn't really play for a whole lot of people underneath of that.

[00:47:31] And to have another club who's actively searching for local talent and not just local talent, but collegiate talent to come in and play for the summer.

[00:47:40] You know, that's a big bonus.

[00:47:42] And you're having, you're always outsourcing a lot of your stuff because if they bring these players in and be like, and you know, you're friends with a coach and the coach says, hey, I actually have this player who's worth going for.

[00:47:54] Instead of taking a trip across the country to go see the player play, you only have to take the five, 10 minute bus or five, 10 minute car ride and you get to see the player play.

[00:48:03] You know, that's another benefit that adds.

[00:48:06] Nothing is five to 10 minutes away in Charleston.

[00:48:10] The, the, the mailbox.

[00:48:14] Well, I think we've talked about the Rhode Island match for us.

[00:48:20] It still pisses me off.

[00:48:23] But great season though.

[00:48:24] Great season.

[00:48:25] Love the season and just feeds the machine to go, Hey, I'm ready for next season.

[00:48:30] Let's get a little time off, but the guys need to be working hard.

[00:48:33] We talked a little bit about our future, the batteries future.

[00:48:36] Here we keep, here it goes.

[00:48:38] Mr.

[00:48:38] Beak is leaving.

[00:48:41] Jason, unfortunately, but maybe he'll straighten out Miami.

[00:48:43] So they have a W every once in a while, or at least a draw.

[00:48:47] And let's talk about our future.

[00:48:50] We started this out, uh, 30 some episodes ago.

[00:48:53] We, uh, kind of started as a little bit of an experiment.

[00:48:56] We made it all the way through the season.

[00:48:58] I think we did a decent job.

[00:49:00] We got a lot of growth to do.

[00:49:03] I'm in for another season, a little off season action.

[00:49:06] Oh, well, hopefully you two are along for the ride.

[00:49:08] I'm going to ask your opinions right now.

[00:49:10] Ryan, you in for next season?

[00:49:12] I am in.

[00:49:13] I'm locked and loaded.

[00:49:14] Season tickets have already been packed.

[00:49:15] I purchased.

[00:49:17] No.

[00:49:17] What, and what about the podcast?

[00:49:19] You sticking with us?

[00:49:20] I don't think I have a choice.

[00:49:22] Do I?

[00:49:22] I think I signed a four year deal.

[00:49:23] No, you don't have a choice.

[00:49:23] Yeah.

[00:49:23] I know where you live.

[00:49:24] I know where you live.

[00:49:26] I think I signed a four year deal.

[00:49:28] You signed it way too early.

[00:49:30] There's no options.

[00:49:30] Your options is day three.

[00:49:32] Yeah.

[00:49:33] So, and Patrick, I'll not put you on the spot, but I'm assuming that you're in for another

[00:49:38] fantastic season.

[00:49:39] Just based on your comments that we should talk about in the off season.

[00:49:42] For sure.

[00:49:42] And I also, like, again, I'm very excited for what's coming with the battery, but I'm

[00:49:48] also excited for us to deep dive into these topics that we don't really get time to during

[00:49:54] the season, like the youth and the development of soccer around this country or scouting players,

[00:50:01] like growing the game and growing this sport for everyone just to make it a better experience

[00:50:07] and better quality.

[00:50:08] Like we all have clubs that we support, not just the battery, but professionally overseas.

[00:50:15] And I think we all have that little dream as fans of the battery that the battery can get

[00:50:21] a little closer to those levels and kind of the way those clubs are run.

[00:50:26] And yeah, I'm excited for next season, but I'm excited to get into some of these soccer

[00:50:32] specifics and maybe dive a little bit more into the U.S.

[00:50:35] Open Cup this off season and where it's headed with the MLS and all of that.

[00:50:42] Yeah.

[00:50:42] You know, it's the battery grows.

[00:50:44] It inspired me to grow this podcast also.

[00:50:47] And I think hopefully we've all talked about how we're going to grow this, this cannon crew

[00:50:53] and maybe go to a little video.

[00:50:57] A little live stuff, stuff like that in the future.

[00:51:00] Now that we've got a season under our belt and we've got a little more experience and I look

[00:51:05] forward to it.

[00:51:06] If we're doing that, Ryan's got to step up his Jersey game.

[00:51:09] Yeah.

[00:51:10] Ryan's got to step up his Jersey game.

[00:51:12] I don't think y'all are ready.

[00:51:13] All right.

[00:51:14] We're going in.

[00:51:15] I'm going in on this.

[00:51:16] I guess we're going to have a, are we going to be showing up to each podcast in a different

[00:51:19] early?

[00:51:20] I mean, you can speak for yourself.

[00:51:22] I don't, I probably have enough to do that for a whole year.

[00:51:25] I have three.

[00:51:26] I, you know, which ones I have, you know, I've got one that's red and white.

[00:51:29] I have one that's, that's black and red.

[00:51:31] And I have another one, uh, this black and yellow.

[00:51:34] The issue is he keeps burning them every time he gets them and then he burns them.

[00:51:38] Who, Ryan?

[00:51:40] I actually have four battery jerseys that have burn marks on because of the flames.

[00:51:46] Fuego.

[00:51:47] He didn't learn.

[00:51:47] He never learns.

[00:51:49] No.

[00:51:50] But I got one on that found with the whole team.

[00:51:52] And he's always looking down the breach of the gun, right?

[00:51:56] I don't know.

[00:51:56] Fires.

[00:51:57] Get your head back in.

[00:51:57] Okay.

[00:51:58] A little fiery.

[00:51:59] Oh, okay.

[00:52:00] So we're going to take a little time off, maybe, you know, a week or so.

[00:52:03] And, uh, look out for our next episode.

[00:52:07] Look out for that.

[00:52:07] He caused the news.

[00:52:08] Our off season.

[00:52:10] And listen up for all that news.

[00:52:13] Before we go, any predictions for Thanksgiving?

[00:52:15] Ryan?

[00:52:17] I'm going to eat a lot of turkey and sucking.

[00:52:19] What are you doing?

[00:52:20] Staying at home?

[00:52:20] I'm staying at home and, uh, preparing for this baby who's doing 12 days.

[00:52:26] 12 days?

[00:52:27] 12 days.

[00:52:29] You can't sprout it.

[00:52:31] That's less than 12 days.

[00:52:32] Sounds like someone's plans are...

[00:52:34] Well, congratulations.

[00:52:35] Someone's plans are...

[00:52:36] Oh, it's 10 days.

[00:52:38] 10 days.

[00:52:40] 10 days.

[00:52:41] Okay.

[00:52:42] Which plans for your heating?

[00:52:44] It's my day off.

[00:52:46] So I'll probably just, uh, relax a little bit.

[00:52:49] Go see some buddies for a turkey fry.

[00:52:51] And, uh, hang out with my wife and our dogs.

[00:52:56] Just take it a little easy this holiday.

[00:53:01] What's your dog's name?

[00:53:02] Uh, there's Kenna, the princess.

[00:53:05] And then...

[00:53:06] Good old Gunner.

[00:53:09] Gunner.

[00:53:09] Gunner.

[00:53:11] Gunner.

[00:53:12] 5-1.

[00:53:13] That's all I'm going to say about today.

[00:53:15] All right, boys.

[00:53:15] Wife's getting me.

[00:53:16] I do gotta go.

[00:53:18] All right, Ryan.

[00:53:19] Good luck with everything.

[00:53:21] Let us know if you need anything.

[00:53:23] All right.

[00:53:24] Cheers, boys.

[00:53:25] Okay, y'all.

[00:53:26] Let's go.

[00:53:27] All right.

[00:53:28] Peace.

[00:53:29] Peace.
