Welcome back to the Cannon Crรผe Podcast, where we bring you insightful analysis of the Charleston Battery. In today's episode, we're diving deep into the USL Championship Eastern Conference battle between Miami FC and the Charleston Battery. Although the boys didn't keep a clean sheet, they showed their resilience by answering the initial single volley of Miami with two magnificent goals by Nick and the Doctor before sailing back up to Charleston with all three points.

[00:00:00] Welcome to Cannon Crue, a weekly podcast discussing the Charleston battery. Your host granite will
[00:00:23] be joined by other defenders of the fleet from the Black and Yellow Supporters section,
[00:00:27] and together they will help fortify and conquer the other cannon Crue.
[00:00:36] Welcome to the Cannon Crue podcast, I'm granite and I'm here with my co-host Ryan. Hey how's it going?
[00:00:43] Going well and Patrick! I'm here. Ready? Hey we're here to talk about our battle down in Miami against
[00:00:52] our Eastern Conference rivals. We've never won down in Miami, we don't have the best record against them
[00:00:58] before we get going. Let's talk about the lineup. There were a couple changes from last week.
[00:01:04] It was Chris Allen coming in for Iqaza and the CDM role. Chris could have been doing
[00:01:11] extra well in the training session. He looked well on the field but Iqaza you'd have to think
[00:01:18] in the last game he picked up that dangerous yellow card and then he had another late challenge
[00:01:25] with high studs that should have been another yellow and he should have been ready-carded.
[00:01:31] Kind of look at Ben and think of it as a little punishment for him getting him just to calm down.
[00:01:38] We're excited, we like the enthusiasm but we want to see him still on the field and not having to sit out
[00:01:43] in the game. Is he just getting some rotation in here? That's another great possibility too and
[00:01:49] just keeping the players fresh, getting Allen rotated in the mix, getting your best players,
[00:01:55] your good players rested and getting some other players healthy and rested and back onto the field as well.
[00:02:03] Yeah I'd say the one glaring change that we didn't see happen that maybe we thought what happened
[00:02:10] was Archer back onto the pitch to start a game. We'll touch on it a little bit later because we did
[00:02:16] finally get seal action from him but seeing him warming up looking really well, I was surprised
[00:02:22] he didn't start this one just what we kind of expected from Miami with their attack play or more so
[00:02:30] they're just speed and having that maturity on our defensive line but it was at least nicely
[00:02:37] traveled with the team he's on the bench and he was our option on there. Yeah that was the great
[00:02:41] option it was nice to see him coming into the lineup and then getting some minutes in especially
[00:02:46] there at the end because I think that's the big thing is if you're out with a hamstring for
[00:02:49] a little bit if that's what it was trying to get back up to game shape can take a little bit.
[00:02:55] Now we knew this going to be a tough match, I think there was a lot of predictions about
[00:02:58] a lot of fouling and everything else. Ryan what do you think about the matches that live up to your
[00:03:04] expectations? It absolutely lived up to my expectations. I think we called it from the start,
[00:03:11] it was going to be one of those games that was just a fight, fouls were going to be called left and
[00:03:18] right is just going to be a gruesome battle in the midfield. Now it was kind of interesting. We'll get
[00:03:25] into it the early goals but again overall it's a really exciting game and physical game.
[00:03:35] I feel the expectations for this match was coming off obviously a huge win, a really big win at home,
[00:03:44] a lot of positive play and just looking to build off of that for us so maybe the expectation
[00:03:50] for me was I wanted to see the chance creation and the players actually foul those up finished
[00:03:56] the ball on the net. I mean honestly I was hoping for another five four no and just seeing the boys
[00:04:03] out there having another good ramp up on what is kind of seemingly the longest road trip ever
[00:04:11] where we just sprinkle in and a home game every now and then including our next few upcoming
[00:04:16] fixtures. I don't know, I was expecting us to come out and just start firing away from the get go.
[00:04:27] Yeah my expectation was going to do what we did the first couple matches that come out,
[00:04:31] a lot of possession on the ball trying to protect with our center backs but we playing a little high
[00:04:36] and just a lot of possession some technical work getting into the box, getting players out wide
[00:04:41] and spreading out that defense on the other side. And that's what we saw I think most for almost
[00:04:47] all again. I mean possession was was incredibly high for us if you look at some of the maps
[00:04:54] for center backs were almost at the halfway line and their average positions weren't even
[00:05:00] across their halfway line so it was kind of a that's kind of what I thought was going to be
[00:05:03] an intermixed with that fouls which I was kind of surprised it wasn't was not as many fouls
[00:05:09] I thought there was going to be. So let's move right into the match and there's only a couple
[00:05:15] big moments other than us possessing the ball almost 67% of the time and that was their goal.
[00:05:21] You hate to see these ones you just hate to see all we first saw it we were at Edmund's
[00:05:30] post and you're just thinking to yourself what is the keeper doing here what is Adam what does he
[00:05:38] got himself into I don't know if he took his eye off the ball or the player I think he took his
[00:05:45] eye off the player and realizing where the attacker was actually at because you know
[00:05:51] Miami's attacker just I mean it was no real touch effort to just go right past them.
[00:05:58] So thank you just kind call it Nat Lala land and you know we're kind of expecting him to stay
[00:06:05] a little bit more tuned in with all the goals that he's got scored on this year which is only two
[00:06:11] so it's not many goals he got scored on just the two goals both of them kind of came from
[00:06:15] simple mistakes where we kind of find him not being fully tuned in and not being him being the ability
[00:06:22] to where he can be and being as good as he can be so thank you still trying to find his group and I'm
[00:06:27] not too pressed or too worried right now because it's still so early in the season but just
[00:06:33] still not a good look he does well the bounce back yeah I think to bail him out a little bit on this
[00:06:39] there was a lot of poor play from a few players on this one particular we call it a long ball
[00:06:47] because that's all it was it was a smash and grab situation let's boot the ball as long as we can
[00:06:54] have our fastest player run onto it and try and create something I can't bully blame docentives
[00:07:01] for being too far wide he is playing as an outside back but the ball was less than a foot away
[00:07:07] from him where you stick a foot out maybe he deflects it out goes more towards the corner
[00:07:14] just with the initial throw ball to him to gavilanis but I mean you also saw Palmer center back was
[00:07:22] way too high up the field on this play he was almost in a center defensive bid position
[00:07:28] so there wasn't that second center back covering because the rest of our players are actually
[00:07:33] guarding man marking who is running on the outside of the box so I think it's probably was just
[00:07:41] green wise trying to step up to make the play and just got wrong footed on it I mean he's not
[00:07:46] going to be the fastest player out there the best defensive player he's the keeper he's there
[00:07:51] to stop the goals from going in the net so I don't know it's a little difficult you don't like seeing
[00:07:58] it like you said right you don't want to see your keeper out that far but it would definitely have
[00:08:02] helped if he had a little more cover but I mean we're nine minutes in the game I don't even think
[00:08:07] the guys were fully ready for this kind of gut punch just for the long ball sprint they're going to have
[00:08:15] a hit so I don't know we know that gavilanis is their number one man and we know that he is the one
[00:08:27] the ball is going to go to and we know he's fast and he split the santo's and paulman I think it
[00:08:33] was paulman on that side and was there all by himself in the open and you know as for paulman being
[00:08:39] it did seem strange they were really in a forward position especially for it wasn't like a counter
[00:08:47] attack it was a ball being played I think from the box area of Miami and it was just a couple quick
[00:08:53] passes some long passes and then garson really bad situation but yeah greening needs come out
[00:08:58] and if he's going to come out you got to come out and get it as a keeper and you're going to come
[00:09:04] that's what we want from him as well if you're going to come out claim it you put your hands to it
[00:09:10] obviously he can't put his hands to it because he's outside the box kick it up the field get it out
[00:09:14] of bounds one of the two he didn't do one of the two but then he also then didn't make it
[00:09:20] difficult for the attacker he it was just an easy pass right by him so that's that's where I'm
[00:09:26] getting at with him saying like that is a loom you know we fight a little bit better from him on that
[00:09:31] part but no it's not all of his fault because at the end of the day the ball has to go through all 11
[00:09:34] people leave behind that net you know so there's 11 people who can all be accounted for at that time
[00:09:41] when the ball goes in the back the net you know there's a lot more people here at salt and it's just
[00:09:47] you know as a team we just need to come back together that kind of sucks like palma literally
[00:09:53] I think for me is just watching the replay back of that goal and palma is not jogging he's not
[00:10:01] sprinting back to try and help say the goalie does force him wide to even get back in a position
[00:10:07] of potentially cut an angle off for a shot on the goal until he sees that he's kind of by him
[00:10:15] then you see him do like a lunch forward start sprinting I do it's just the effort on that play of
[00:10:21] like if you're if you're gonna be that far forward and trying to help build out the play the least
[00:10:27] you can do is at least put the effort to sprint back and show that you're trying to get back to cover
[00:10:31] it and set up just half-assing it a little bit yeah but that's another thing too with palma himself
[00:10:43] coming in from last season a lot of times he was flatfooted coming into the start of games he
[00:10:51] he he took him a while to develop and sit into games and to get comfortable and he did kind
[00:10:59] of look flatfooted for the majority of the games that he came out and started last year and I
[00:11:03] didn't it's not like I saw it in the Oakland game there was a few little misqs here and there just
[00:11:10] back line in general and they all cleaned it up they all look good they still got one goal in them
[00:11:15] but then when you go into this game you kind of see in a little bit singularity a little bit mistake
[00:11:21] on his end I got instant flashbacks with him not running back I got instant flashbacks of NB for last
[00:11:28] year where he got a red card the first three minutes of the game and will lose four zero and we're
[00:11:32] playing ten minutes the whole entire game and next thing we're gonna get ready to talk about
[00:11:37] we're gonna go into a right here is three minutes later what a response yeah well I mean
[00:11:45] fortunately we didn't have to wait long for a response to this one I don't think anyone really
[00:11:52] got to see it live since broadcasters really wanted to show that goal we just talked about
[00:12:00] yeah this is the broadcasters I don't know if we're just dealing with amateur broadcasters like
[00:12:07] we're amateur broadcasters I don't know but it seemed really strange that also they spent all
[00:12:12] this time showing Miami's goal in the middle of play all I have to do is watch some EPO games and
[00:12:20] it kind of managed cameras in the same manners they do on the big leagues seems like somebody was
[00:12:27] very eager to just show off a single player at the expense of our player who's in the top of the
[00:12:32] league and we had a free kick in a dangerous area who takes the camera off the open play
[00:12:39] in that situation to show a minute and a half replay I was just say this puts the battery
[00:12:45] this put a battery in another spot though that we haven't been yet this season that's being
[00:12:50] in a deficit position you know we're down one zero now in the opening ten minutes you know I
[00:12:55] looked to you Brad when we were at the bar and it's also saying how are we gonna respond you
[00:12:59] this is the first time we've been down all season next thing you know we pick our heads up we
[00:13:04] immediately scored and tied it and you seek renwist just he's back in he's fully focused he's
[00:13:09] tuned in he's born into this game he is giving his undivided attention fully into this game now
[00:13:16] you know who else put ahead into this game was Nick that was a great header he muscled it and did
[00:13:22] what he was supposed to do pointing that ball down into the corner keeper team have a chance
[00:13:28] we talk about for the past few weeks now another set peace goal and just believing that the players
[00:13:35] will get on the end of these balls and head at home I mean this is the third game in a row
[00:13:40] the goal goes in the back of that for Nick which is there a player flying higher than him right
[00:13:45] now in the usl don't think so and you can argue for Gabel on his but he scored two in one game
[00:13:54] the last game before this goal I don't think he's playing on the same level as Nick is
[00:14:00] no and I haven't looked at all the numbers I wonder if Gabel on his has all the assists and all
[00:14:05] the other parts of Nick's game that is really adding to the team effort you know right now he's
[00:14:11] I think he's second in the usl tight was tied for second with usl with three goals out of five games
[00:14:19] that's that's a pretty good stat he needs these keeps going I'd like to see him get 30 goals this
[00:14:23] year but we'll see that's gonna take a lot so Ryan what does this dude a grin whist because he
[00:14:28] doesn't even have time to hang his head from the previous play before we equalize well no he had
[00:14:36] the moment to hang his head he moped about it for the three seconds and then he picked his head
[00:14:41] up and we scored he had to immediately overcome it he has to then buy into it he but that's what he
[00:14:47] did he bought into it gave it its full it gave the game his full attention and we never had an
[00:14:52] issue in the back for the remainder of the game really I mean we had a few little if he thinks here
[00:14:57] in there but it was cleaned up quite nicely and we had no errors and you know came away with the win
[00:15:03] and I was trying to look at the grannies he's he's 12th in the Eastern Conference
[00:15:11] for saves that's because there's not a whole lot of shots being taken on him back there no he's
[00:15:15] he's only averaging one save the game yeah and I think it's a testament to our play in front of
[00:15:21] them our backs and our midfield in the possession that ball that appears like this has been a way of
[00:15:28] playing for me as a defender looking back I almost like love these plays for my keeper to be able
[00:15:36] to get involved early on because it's almost like changes there's perspective for the rest of the
[00:15:40] game I know for me as a defender it does but I feel like something like this actually helps him
[00:15:45] for the rest of the game because he's involved in the play and now he's trying to be a little more
[00:15:50] proactive in everything he's doing and even after that first goal we didn't look panicked I think
[00:15:56] that's a big testament to the abilities that we have and the confidence we have been look panicked
[00:16:03] of course we got it back in almost immediately but everybody was just back to business let's just
[00:16:08] get back to business and let's do what we do and we got some great results from it about the 42nd
[00:16:14] minute there was a corner in a near post run yeah another great ball in by Maloy and Smith coming
[00:16:23] on nowhere just trying to create something on nothing and you can't really tell if the goal he
[00:16:30] got fingertips to it or if it was just an inch or two over the bar but another one of these great
[00:16:36] runs by our defenders in the box and it's that piece to just try and head one home I mean making
[00:16:44] the runs it's it's what you want to see from your players to try and get ahead at halftime
[00:16:49] not exactly what we need to look forward and going into those tight spaces and areas is
[00:16:54] that creativity and how can we get the ball to our best players and put it in those best situations
[00:17:01] for us but Gordon I was kind of you know Brad I was saying that it's from here sitting there at
[00:17:06] Edmunds Oost and how we called it on the last podcast you know I was a really sweating that it
[00:17:11] was one one I saw how we are continuing to put pressure but I didn't I didn't think we were going
[00:17:17] to score yet in my head because of how we called the game and I truly believe that it was just
[00:17:22] going to be that frustrating of a game that we just weren't going to get the ball in until later
[00:17:27] in the second half going into the second half really the only thing we're missing is that ball
[00:17:33] in the back and then Ed again to get that lead we've done everything right we've come back from a
[00:17:39] in a position where we were losing one zero came back real quick within 90 seconds and responded
[00:17:45] we had possession of we're up 60%
[00:17:49] getting the shots in we got a few crosses we're getting the set pieces we're getting after them
[00:17:54] we just have to keep the pressure up and just just keep it just keep it all in them they're
[00:17:59] going to get flatfooted at some point continue the press just like against New Mexico yeah we were
[00:18:05] going in the first half we had 14 shots I think there was four shots on target and just I guess
[00:18:11] we got to keep that up now in the last thing too is the mainly protector players is that's the
[00:18:19] first of foremost is our protection of our players because again we only have that 19 man roster
[00:18:25] and any type of injury Nick it's gonna it's gonna hurt the roster for a bit right now but
[00:18:31] soon we have a quick turnaround next week then you look at after the goal to following up with it
[00:18:39] I don't think the ball even got into our final third you know maybe after another 20 minutes after
[00:18:46] our goal we immediately won the ball back and kept the ball in their half the entire time yeah
[00:18:53] me we had leading up to half we had I don't know four or five more chances like real chances we had
[00:19:02] Nick dribble in the box again make a nice little move there take a shot I mean their defenders were
[00:19:08] kind of packing it out but it was almost like they scored we responded and then we just
[00:19:15] were like the older brother holding their head down on the carpet saying no that was a one-time
[00:19:21] thing you you get to do we're just gonna go ahead and start shooting ball at your bat and you're
[00:19:26] not really gonna do anything to us for the rest of the staff at least yeah I think possession stats
[00:19:31] were we're at 63.8 at the end of the first half and they were like 36.6 so the rest of the first
[00:19:38] half was possession ball passing it they're kicking down trying to get the long ball and we're stopping
[00:19:45] it is that leads us up into the second half so this takes us in the second half there's a little
[00:19:52] action yeah I mean just like the first half we don't really have to wait long for another big chance
[00:19:59] honestly for me the end uh 56 54th minute free kick side of the box throw in
[00:20:08] foul headed away by moloi again and then Miami is on a counter they are it was exactly like
[00:20:19] the their first goal in the first half but this time Gudiera's who spoiler alert
[00:20:25] Patrick's player of the match tracked all the way back to stop this counter attack and immediately
[00:20:31] turn it into a counter for the battery where we had a 2 on 1 I think Alan had the ball and didn't end
[00:20:43] up getting the ball across to maybe try and score a goal off of it but either way just the
[00:20:48] play back from Gudiera's to to stop Miami's counter attack and then from their corner kick
[00:20:55] us just immediately breaking away and trying to score on them immediately was so reminiscent of the
[00:21:00] first half and the two goals we previously saw so I mean it was pretty much the only action but it
[00:21:09] was right away to start that yeah and then off this kind of counter attack counter attack we've
[00:21:17] finally got our first big controversy of the year the d8 minute Alan takes down galvanolas on the
[00:21:26] halfway line where you guys think and when you saw this because he was clearly on a breakaway
[00:21:32] yeah this one you kind of see it as a tactical foul you see it a lot with man Sadie and Pep Guardiola
[00:21:39] system that that counter attack at the midfield is it is he through on goal yet or is he still considered
[00:21:48] not in that dangerous attack to where it's an automatic red card as like a last man defender
[00:21:55] so it's a good strategic foul but again it was still that controversial call it definitely
[00:22:02] was borderline it could have been a red could have been yellow it wasn't thinking this it was yellow
[00:22:09] Brad Whearth thoughts on it Andrew Booth is just phenomenal player I think I'm sad when he went
[00:22:15] but if you look at I think it's a yellow card I don't think he's even close to being a red card because
[00:22:21] the couple things you have to consider as an official is and I'm reading right from the laws of the
[00:22:26] game the distance between the offense and the goal general direction of play likelihood of keeping
[00:22:32] or gaining control of the ball in location number defenders so if you look at a lot of those
[00:22:37] considerations it was half is just tactical foul he grabbed him that's a that's a caution no more
[00:22:44] than that I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one I think we we slid past on this got really
[00:22:50] lucky that was it it was 1v1 and we saw him break away with speed in the first half I thought when
[00:22:58] I saw that ball coming I thought he was gone and it was a oh no moment for me like we're going to see
[00:23:05] another him burst green with drinless and I think we're lucky to get away with the yellow I know
[00:23:12] it's a half field but these are those gray areas that they talk about where he still has plenty of
[00:23:19] field to run on I don't know I mean the yellow card comes and we don't see any more of them from
[00:23:25] this point but for me I think we were lucky on this play yeah if you look where the ball
[00:23:32] ends up way in front of the play he still had to run quite a distance to get the ball and get it
[00:23:38] on the control and I can't remember who was over on the right hand side but there he was basically
[00:23:45] even with the whole play and I think he could have been that defender to be able to come back and
[00:23:51] cover if if the tactical foul was unsuccessful yeah I'm glad it was I'm glad it was only a yellow
[00:23:58] I just you see him week in week out you never know what refs what is going to be the consistency
[00:24:04] of a call from week to week yellow loan certain files in the game so I'm glad it was a yellow but
[00:24:12] you just as a fan you never really can not hold your breath in certain situations like this
[00:24:20] that well we're also the routine too against the team that we've never beaten and it's one
[00:24:26] of those heartbreaking our one is heart eight moments where we're holding ourselves where it's like
[00:24:31] is he gonna be that red is he gonna be the yellow where yeah Brad at times where you slow it down
[00:24:36] frame by frame you really look at it probably doesn't look as a certain red but in the moment
[00:24:41] can most certainly definitely be red and we're happy to get away with that
[00:24:47] because you can look at it two minutes later with Ben Peerman taking Chris Allen off and bringing on
[00:24:54] Causa that was the thing we had mentioned earlier is resting a Causa for those that short turn around
[00:25:01] of the upcoming week we have or did he really think it could have been a red and instead of
[00:25:07] possibly keeping Chris in and getting a juicy cheap little foul and that being a
[00:25:12] cause of another yellow and having a man down going ahead and something him out that's a good point
[00:25:18] yeah I see the way you're going but also looking at not only did he sub Chris at the 60 minute mark
[00:25:26] which is traditionally when coaches start seven people but he also sub Tore is in so maybe that
[00:25:33] was just part of the plan at 60 minutes these two players were coming in and maybe Chris knew
[00:25:37] that so he was gonna reach out touch someone and I want to back up because one thing I didn't
[00:25:43] mention earlier which I thought was a very positive thing is when Grinney when that goal was
[00:25:48] scored it might have been very tempting to go out and grab somebody end up in that red card
[00:25:54] situation and nobody did and I think that shows a level of confidence that even though they scored
[00:25:59] against us we can still come back and win this game yeah and that's actually a great point you
[00:26:06] brought up too is that Chris probably knew going in that 60th ma'am in 60th minute mark you're coming
[00:26:12] off the field it looks of the clock you know 50 57th minute oh snap they got a quick counter
[00:26:19] yeah I'm just going to take him out real quick because I know we get ready to come off the pitch
[00:26:24] quite smart actually Patrick I think you kind of said you know we watch man city do this
[00:26:29] this is part of their normal play as they just reach out and grab somebody the thing might be a
[00:26:34] threat at the halfway line and uh slows down the place slows them down being on the other side of
[00:26:40] it's very frustrating but I kind of say kudos to the Chris for reaching out there and doing it
[00:26:45] also a little curious if this is what we're going to start seeing from Torres all see isn't as in
[00:26:52] like maybe the occasional start here and there or as he's just going to be our 45 50 60 minute sub
[00:27:00] guy that comes on and continues to create chaos for us I mean goodie air is working his ass off but
[00:27:10] the play I talked about a few minutes ago that was actually him on the break away with Alan
[00:27:16] that goodie air is didn't pass the ball so I messed up on that but like
[00:27:20] is this the reason he's coming off versus like a pre-plan sub where Torres is just you're knowing
[00:27:26] you get the minutes with him again and like we're trying to spread the minutes around for our guys
[00:27:33] to keep them all fresh with such a small squad where they're almost promised enough minutes to keep
[00:27:38] playing all season to keep them all happy so I like I think that's another sub at the same time
[00:27:45] where you look at his goodie air has come off for a couple missed opportunities or is this a pre-plan
[00:27:51] with Torres again now Pat just say kind of talk just have speak on it what you're just talking about
[00:27:59] with the type of team Charleston has this season with the 19 man roster but you look at this roster
[00:28:06] and you just named three different guys who are on our bench who could definitely be a starter like
[00:28:11] Jake LeCovid definitely be a starter and any other team in the USL there's all the other teams
[00:28:16] Torres and all of them they could all be starters they go anywhere else yet they're here on Charleston
[00:28:21] we have a 19 man roster that shows the level of depth the experience and the skill level that we
[00:28:31] have on our bench so when we have a person coming off the field and going in we're replacing a starter
[00:28:37] for another starter we're not losing any type of skill level we're not we're not losing anything
[00:28:44] and we're actually raising our game because when our opponents make substitutions usually they're
[00:28:49] downgrading you never really see it the other way around unless it's for like a certain set piece or
[00:28:56] a certain moment in the game when you're trying to be more defensive or go more on the attack
[00:29:02] you don't you don't really have it that way because you know that's a lot of money
[00:29:06] it's a lot of money to keep that team happy and just like how you said how are you going to promise
[00:29:10] those players minutes when you know I'm a starter I'm one of my 80 minute game but I'm sitting on
[00:29:16] the bench because I'm only getting 50 minutes playing for a team where we're really good though
[00:29:22] it's a it's a scary thought of like being an opposing team looking out our bench in that perspective of
[00:29:30] every single one of those guys can start on our team and at some point we're going to have to face
[00:29:35] that or the possibility of facing them against us in this game so you don't know what to plan for
[00:29:43] so let's talk about tours because he come in at we're talking about the rotation of players
[00:29:47] so against the route on it 59 minutes against New Mexico on a 71 minutes and then this time he comes
[00:29:57] on 60 minutes so maybe that's the plan but Ron you're absolutely right you know it's kind of it's
[00:30:02] a great luxury to have you know 19 starters they can come in we're not stepping down and it's
[00:30:09] and it's not necessarily like for like either I think it was a great thing because it's a different
[00:30:13] look to the opposing team so I think it's a good problem we have and I'm kind of excited too
[00:30:20] because I know that this is something we're going to continue to talk about throughout the season
[00:30:24] too with this 19 man roster it's you know it's it's going to be something that is it's going to be
[00:30:30] interesting to watch as we go through the whole season as it carries on through injuries and
[00:30:36] just through all the games will play because right around the corner we have the US open
[00:30:41] you know good luck to the teams playing tonight you have the second round going on so we'll find out
[00:30:46] I think we'll find out in three weeks time who we play in around at 32 coming up so then you
[00:30:51] have those games coming to play um so you have a lot of factors coming in and um just just ready
[00:30:58] to see it it is nice it's fun to play the game of we get dropped for who in the next game like
[00:31:05] did someone play their way in and then yeah I mean it's free for us because this this is what we
[00:31:10] get to talk about but like there's so but he it's not like someone's dropping the ball and it's not
[00:31:15] like a light for like oh that guy has come out we've had this conversation every week now of like
[00:31:21] don't know does he make it in I don't know the other guy also kind of played as also things it's
[00:31:27] an amazing problem for us to have
[00:31:29] and as we talked about it in the beginning of the podcast too with the cause I'm being the one
[00:31:37] the one early change with him being off they're not starting and Chris Allen starting that could
[00:31:42] have just been you know the rotation getting the minutes or who who knows but I kind of gave
[00:31:48] the shout out of they could have been just card travel or something like that because we honestly
[00:31:53] don't know that was just the one change that we're trying to figure out what could have were the changes
[00:31:58] you know because they're such great players and I like your theory better we have to buy into the theories
[00:32:06] you know pretty much I think it's up it made me that position on the field there's an
[00:32:11] card travel oh card travel I think said card travel well they have enough gas in the take there
[00:32:17] they just keep getting those little scratches on the side we got to take them out for about
[00:32:23] 45 minutes the rest of them a little bit it's a good thing we got about four more sitting on the lot
[00:32:31] okay Ryan this is all you the doctors in the house that's your boy give us an ob-pop seat
[00:32:41] MD Myers the golden boy has come to Charleston and he has brought it
[00:32:48] bring us the three points he's bringing us the golden win what a goal what a tap in it was it was beautiful
[00:32:58] everything about the buildup the team play it's what we want to see what we want to continue to see
[00:33:05] how we ended against Mexico and how we're going to end on a high note against Miami after early struggles
[00:33:13] this is what we build a part going into the next game right here and it was it was quite amazing to
[00:33:18] see how we all just finally stuck it all together and got through to that final third created the space
[00:33:26] and created the shot opportunity and it was yeah I say it was a tap in because he he should have
[00:33:31] swore to it and he did score it but with that much space in between his shot he definitely
[00:33:36] definitely had a barrier well I want to take exception with your your comment the early struggles
[00:33:41] I think we played our game there was just that one little hiccup and we just got back to business
[00:33:46] and ended up just doing what we do on side or offside on side on so I'm a very big proponent of being
[00:33:59] told to myself it's offside you'll have to watch three or four replays and we'll wait it out
[00:34:06] not even the full replay of the first one clearly on number 29 I don't know who he was held him
[00:34:12] on the entire time I just feel bad for Tora is like give this guy his goal he he is creating more
[00:34:19] chances off of rebounds for us to knock these home and I just a guy doing so much and he hasn't had
[00:34:28] his yet I know it's coming but I just I feel a little bad for him on this play
[00:34:32] he's ricocheted off the post but this time he hit it so hard it come off the keeper's chest
[00:34:39] and still bounced out about you know about 12 or 13 yards he's gonna get one you're right and
[00:34:44] it's gonna ripple the back of the net if not ripple hole in the back of it yeah I thought it was going
[00:34:47] through the keeper's chest so I just want him to get that goal and then we can talk a little bit more
[00:34:55] about why isn't he starting then why is he coming on to late well he comes he has to come on so
[00:35:01] late to help Ryan out with his predictions there should be a stat for like shots that rebound
[00:35:08] and then the fox in the box takes care of the rest of it because that's what's happened twice to him
[00:35:12] it's got to be a stat that helps out Tora his on that because both those shots were phenomenal
[00:35:17] and just a little bit one way or the other and he's putting the back of the net but the MD was
[00:35:22] just in the right spot and the defenders just stopped when that shot when it was like they just
[00:35:28] stopped and watch and cred to MD for seeing that ricochet come off and he was moving as soon as
[00:35:34] that ball come off the keeper from an on-side position and you know first glance it looked like he
[00:35:40] was really off side by you know three or four yards but when you look at like he said watch it
[00:35:45] for like two seconds and you can see yeah he's on and he's in an on-side position and as soon as
[00:35:51] creens off the keeper's chest he's right there and nice and calm and cool put it in that so yeah
[00:35:58] I mean that's that's the one where the defenders just you see it put their hands up and just pray
[00:36:05] bet the line jugs saw something that they didn't I mean that it's great follow up this now the
[00:36:11] second game in in a row that we get to see it so I mean we talked about it the first week second
[00:36:20] week that the chances will come these guys will grow more confident and just follow it up and
[00:36:26] I mean you play it like for light players that are just like you said Ryan all starters on this
[00:36:30] field and can be starters and playing at this level they're going to start grooving together so
[00:36:36] I mean this wasn't towards his first opportunity on goal like 10 minutes prior he had a shot
[00:36:42] across goal that almost went in for an own goal. Like this guy is just continuously creating these
[00:36:47] chances that we seem to just knock in so maybe I don't know if I was a striker I'd want
[00:36:53] tours on the field just to kind of hang around the six yard line a little bit and just knock a few
[00:36:58] home maybe pad the stats a little bit. Maybe that's his game plan I'm not gonna score a goal directly
[00:37:04] I'm just gonna let other people score but it's gonna look really awesome when I do it
[00:37:09] so how many different goal scorers have we had this season out of the four matches?
[00:37:13] They've been at five. Yeah that's pretty impressive here we spread it out over five different players
[00:37:21] and not just people at four but also a couple midfielder. Yeah you have a goal from a set piece
[00:37:31] from a loy you have a couple goals from Nick Marcanick for when he was playing up top that so a striker
[00:37:40] for a few games and then you have another one from when he was back out wide.
[00:37:44] MD finally picked one up sitting up top and then I believe it was Conway and Gutierrez out wide
[00:37:53] also picked those up as well against New Mexico so it's nice to see everyone getting in there
[00:38:00] into the mix but that's also kind of showing you that early on we're trying to
[00:38:05] decide who we kind of want to fill into that mix and getting everyone on the score sheet early
[00:38:11] kind of mixing all that up shows that we don't have that one solid person but we don't need that
[00:38:17] one solid person. Like I kind of look at the Charleston team from last year and you look up
[00:38:21] at who we had up front we had all get front that was our Charleston attack was all get you know
[00:38:27] you can say we had Fido bra as we had Nick Marcanick up front as well both of them did phenomenal
[00:38:33] last year I'm not saying anything bad about them they were both phenomenal last year and obviously
[00:38:37] we see Fidell was back there's up in the M Blast now and Argy is obviously with another team
[00:38:43] but that was our main focal point was around Argy in this year which don't we don't have that
[00:38:48] and it's kind of like that mystery identity to other teams and other teams are having a difficulty
[00:38:55] trying to figure out what we're doing. You mentioned Gutierrez by I think it was Rodriguez's
[00:39:01] cord to goal as the fifth person is that right. Yeah that sounds right. Began a Rodriguez he did
[00:39:09] he did come off with an injury in the 72nd minute so well concerning I think
[00:39:19] Crawford came on for him what do you think Brad? It is concerning because he's just a motor in
[00:39:25] there and he is going at it you know he's challenging you know I like it but I don't necessarily
[00:39:30] like it but he's challenging Maloy there was a couple times or at least once in past matches where
[00:39:35] you can see the discussion on camera between him and Maloy who's taking a free kick you can
[00:39:40] see him going Rodriguez saying hey this is mine not let me take this and Maloy say no this is mine
[00:39:46] which is I think it's a good thing that we have so much confidence in there and so to take him off
[00:39:52] and he might not come back I don't know I don't know if he is injured but if it isn't injury
[00:39:57] it is a little bit concerning yeah I mean maybe this opens up what we've been talking about like
[00:40:03] maybe Torres comes in and just plays a little more forward in his role and hopefully it's not
[00:40:09] anything serious and just a little knock but if so we have the guys to back up where he can take
[00:40:15] a 45 minute break for the next game and then sub on second half and then get back to full health
[00:40:21] no player wants to do that but precaution you know I mean Pat is that is that a possible prediction
[00:40:29] for me for the next game considering that we do have Louisville on at home on that following Tuesday
[00:40:35] so we have like you know two three days of rest I'll follow in the Rhode Island game do you think
[00:40:40] that's a possibility for Torres to get the nod and get a 40 45 yeah I'm gonna go
[00:40:46] compared to what he's gonna I'm gonna say Torres stays as our guardian angel coming on the 60th
[00:40:55] and our boy Tattoo Jay is going to start that game okay I like that call Jake
[00:41:01] LeCovid get a little bit more to start out he's worked enough he's earned it I mean
[00:41:06] no we honestly can't sit here and say every single player hasn't earned it but you never know
[00:41:13] you switch it up we've seen from coach they he likes to do what he wants to do and keep the other
[00:41:18] teams guessing they really have no idea what we're up to most of this time and then but when
[00:41:24] they figure it out they just go and sit back and hope we just don't score six on yeah so I'm kind
[00:41:30] of itching to see our practice get us to see our Howard team practices I guarantee you it's so
[00:41:36] competitive right now just to see all them competing for one of their starting spots right now it's
[00:41:42] just like this what I'd be around and see it see each of them competing day in and day out for one
[00:41:47] of those spots is it's got to be a site to see for sure we know coach pyramids used up all five
[00:41:54] subs right every match you know in the one person that was not on the bench was drak is that
[00:42:03] knocky received earlier in the season is that still bugging him and how does that affect selection
[00:42:09] for the for the Saturday match in and I guess Louisville when's when's drak coming back
[00:42:18] you know that's a good that's a good question it's with the Santos you have
[00:42:23] playing very well out molest back and you know you don't want to immediately change him out but at
[00:42:28] the same time too you want your depth back in case of anything happens and the knock that Josh
[00:42:35] took it could have been you know back injury it could have been one of those lower leg injuries and
[00:42:39] we're still not quite sure which it was we haven't seen him out there on the training field like we
[00:42:45] uh archer the other day it's kind of tough with this week coming up because you know we just
[00:42:51] had the road trip to Miami you didn't travel at all to Miami so you know we weren't really expecting that
[00:42:56] but then turn around going into this week we're on the road to Rhode Island and then back home on
[00:43:01] Tuesday night for Louisville so I would hope to I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't travel to
[00:43:07] Rhode Island but I would hope to at least see him on the bench for Louisville at home on Tuesday night
[00:43:13] so let's play the game who replaces the Santos if he gets hurt in the first couple of minutes
[00:43:18] the next match if Drax not if you were to get hurt yeah if Drax not on the bench who replaced
[00:43:23] this I think maybe you put Palma out there honestly because you're gonna have archer back
[00:43:31] you're gonna slot him back in and maybe you just deal with that maybe switch to a three-back system
[00:43:36] you have Alan you don't want to take the Lloyd away you know any of these players not to be
[00:43:42] productive in the creation of our opportunities forward but you have plenty of players who can
[00:43:48] slot in the wings but I don't know maybe he just switches it to a three-back and just puts a little more
[00:43:54] cover in the midfield to almost play back a little bit with them would you move Segbers in or
[00:44:03] like would you want him move him because he's vital down the wing and I think you've probably a
[00:44:08] very good like wingback or a CDM role and I think he could do quite well if you were to slide up into
[00:44:13] the middle if we were to do that three-back yeah or would you take him out of that lineup I think
[00:44:20] you leave him in the way he's playing that it's too vital to the wing play to take him out of it
[00:44:26] I don't know maybe what they call it the inverted wingback where he sometimes comes into midfield and
[00:44:33] maybe you just have that is a false decoy of like a back four and he technically plays a little more
[00:44:41] central but I just for the way he plays on the outside and the balls he plays and the amount
[00:44:47] of crosses we get out of it from game to game I don't think you could take him out
[00:44:51] I can 100 I love that shout out you just said that inverted wingback role
[00:44:58] coming into the middle because that is exactly something I see Ben Pima doing
[00:45:03] with disguising a play seeing how you have your outside back okay we look we see how they're
[00:45:08] playing four in the back or okay we see them playing three in the back now and you're sliding that
[00:45:14] CDM back into the middle clogging up that middle and then boom when we go up forward now exploding
[00:45:20] out to the wings going forward I can definitely see him using that further down my line so it looks
[00:45:27] like we're playing four at the back and all said there's a midfielder an extra midfielder and we see
[00:45:32] it with another team that Patrick and I kind of watch where there's a particular left back that all
[00:45:38] said he's in the middle of play in the center field passing the ball around he's a much better midfielder
[00:45:43] and I think he is a left back especially on the defensive part but maybe that's something that's
[00:45:48] maybe in our future I mean it creates chaos more so in the midfield where
[00:45:54] I mean you get sit there and think like oh well all they have to do is win the ball back and it's
[00:45:58] a counter yeah but you also now we're accounting for almost eight players attacking you with
[00:46:06] three of them set back in front of the defense so it allows your center backs and that
[00:46:12] type of position to almost cover more wide where you're not playing three typical centerbacks
[00:46:18] but you're playing more two wingbacks and one center back who can free flow pass the ball around
[00:46:24] we've been doing all season with our center backs and our wingbacks is actually just playing
[00:46:29] the ball across and switching play to kill the counter attack so I could see this happening this
[00:46:35] is something we're already in the style of doing and our play suits us to do this but this is also a big
[00:46:43] ith and it's obviously something we have to look at was such a small roster but the options are there
[00:46:51] I guess so our captain came on with culp minutes left to go leave an archer great to see him back
[00:46:59] out there and it kind of goes to what we were just talking about yeah we some come on and we
[00:47:07] pretty much switched more so to a five one three one so it almost looked like we were playing
[00:47:13] four at the back because archer came on for Nick so obviously I don't know archer's not playing
[00:47:20] up top we can just rule that out for right now but it almost looked like a three center back system
[00:47:28] with almost two wingbacks that from time to time would shift in both a four defensive back system
[00:47:35] and then one would go forward is exactly what we were just talking about Ryan with our wing play
[00:47:40] to help an attack but then you still had a center of defense a mid or two to cover that spot so he
[00:47:47] doesn't have to just kill himself gas himself out sprinting back every time to cover his position
[00:47:53] so it almost felt like we were testing the system out a little bit
[00:47:57] the eighty six minute I can't come off and Myers come on we put on archer and Lakava so yeah he kind
[00:48:05] of slid in that kind of you said five back you know five of the back but it was kind of a three center
[00:48:11] back role right in the middle come on the right hand side yeah I mean you have obviously Lakava
[00:48:17] went up top but this is a player I honestly see who can hit this more than anyone just the way he plays
[00:48:25] yeah he wants to be up there and grabbing goals who doesn't but like I don't think he's one where
[00:48:31] it's a stretch to ask him like hey we need you to do this makeshift and verdict wingback role
[00:48:37] I see him it more so as that player than anyone else on our team wait so you're saying you see Jake
[00:48:43] being that wingback yeah more so just for hit over psychbers well psychbers as in you're doing the
[00:48:50] foreback and Jake almost acts like it and comes forward nah like so he's more so playing like a
[00:48:59] outside winger but he just drops back and lets our we have a lot of center myths so they almost take
[00:49:06] it to drop all the way back well he drops enough to cover but he's our first attacking option out
[00:49:15] well right but that's still normally playing as like a wing as an I can outside guy rather than if
[00:49:21] you use it as segbers you're using a true wingback role where she's taking your back four guy in
[00:49:27] your throw him up into the midfield going forward then so then you're leaving a soul three in the
[00:49:32] back and then that's where your two CDM's come and tuck in and we got really five in the back again
[00:49:39] but segbers is then able to go up and I was thinking more so if we had to do a five back system
[00:49:45] will be playing just the recenter backs where I like yeah I like it was into it yeah I think
[00:49:52] we're on the right page where you're talking more so as like the classic four back and we do that
[00:49:57] inverted but yeah going into the for the moment you go into the five back you really have those
[00:50:03] three solid in the middle and then those two are playing the wingbacks where they go up and then
[00:50:08] like you're saying they held out Jake and the wings and then cut connect through the midfield to
[00:50:12] switch the field of play and that's honestly what I thought we've done quite well with was just
[00:50:18] switching the ball around switching the field of play we're almost at the end of the match we're
[00:50:23] about the 89th minute or so and there was a little play down the box in the Miami players were all
[00:50:30] up in arms trying to claim there's a penalty somebody's grabbing his head he's laying on the ground
[00:50:35] yeah did it die I think it's a dive I think
[00:50:42] Grinwiss learned his lesson he came out he got ball and regardless archer was in front of the
[00:50:48] attacker the entire time until he almost got called off you can see it he almost like makes
[00:50:54] a shift to the side and goes off the ball and the player just falls down we talked about
[00:51:01] the dark arts not too long ago I think this is one of those plays where it's 90th minute
[00:51:08] and Miami's just looking for anything because they haven't had a chance so it's boot the ball
[00:51:12] long and trying to get a penalty call I see nothing from this I really think that was simulation
[00:51:18] on his end and we should have seen a yellow for diving on that yeah you're right archer's coming
[00:51:26] down he's in he's ahead of him he's uh Grinny coming out and kind of lays up a little bit because
[00:51:32] he knows Grinny is going to take care of it then the ball's a little high Grinny gets it and he
[00:51:37] just dies on to that got off last road turf he also added a few rolls around on the ground too so
[00:51:44] you can't really think that's the most serious fall that's happened in the game I do appreciate
[00:51:50] the rolling I think they're left in an awesome job in this game just playing it fair and not
[00:51:58] overreacting to Miami us being in Miami in the say it again a lack of home crowd but
[00:52:07] they guys not even going for the ball he puts his head down and he just tries to run through our
[00:52:10] goalie who's going for the ball which you can't call that 100 times out of 100 you can't call
[00:52:17] that as a foul and I think he made the right choice yeah I don't think Grinny even touches it
[00:52:23] and he's grabbed the top of his head that's just ridiculous but I you know I guess you got to try
[00:52:27] it right I don't know but I agree with you the center official did a fantastic job I thought
[00:52:33] sometimes calls go against you and you start going like wow was he doing but overall I think
[00:52:38] he did a great job keeping control of the game and and calling most calls fairly and evenly
[00:52:46] and you can't ask for better net we've experienced some referees that might not have been
[00:52:52] had their best game I don't say they're not very good referees but might not have the best game
[00:52:57] in calls went against us and this guy I think he did a good job yeah I think for sure that's one
[00:53:02] of those plays that you all kind of just told your brother a second because as a home crowd you
[00:53:09] can see it going their way but very big decision 90th minute home team down by one and to not
[00:53:17] call that I think is a bigger call for him to actually see it and have eyes on it and this is
[00:53:23] one that I think like when you show reps around the league or you teach a class this is one you
[00:53:29] can point to and be like look at just because of the timing of a game or the atmosphere of a game
[00:53:35] doesn't mean you have to just give a call because you think something might happen when you
[00:53:40] what you saw is what you saw so stick to what you saw it's a great point and people miss this
[00:53:47] is that you can only call what you see if you can't see it you shouldn't be calling it if you think
[00:53:52] it happened you shouldn't be calling it a ours out there the assistant referees there to help you
[00:53:58] if have that discussion they're all miked up they're talking each other the whole time
[00:54:02] and gives you an extra set of eyes especially in that situation so thoughts of man the match
[00:54:12] yeah I'm gonna go with goodie eras
[00:54:17] I'm just gonna go different because I know you guys have someone else I'm not gonna take your
[00:54:21] spotlight but I think the I know he only played 60 minutes but the effort that he showed in
[00:54:28] that first half of not only creating honestly most of our chances but the few defensive plays where
[00:54:36] he ran back I mean it just kind of reminded me of mulloy so I have to give it to him just for
[00:54:47] switch it up but the work effort was there and I think he busted his ass and really made the
[00:54:52] difference for that whole first half for us to keep us in it so Brad from my man of the match I got
[00:54:59] my boy md Myers again I got to stick with him again he's gotten both my predictions right for me
[00:55:07] he's done nothing wrong he's gotten us into great play two wins and both starts he's had for
[00:55:14] us this season and he's you know that big man up front pulling two defenders away creating
[00:55:21] those opportunities for Nick up front and I'm not saying that it's all because of md nigg still
[00:55:27] what he's doing is doing something and roll coming together and it's beautiful soccer quite
[00:55:32] quite impressed I'm gonna go half and half I'm gonna go with Nick and md
[00:55:38] Nick's header was just incredible he's got two defenders on him and he puts it with the side of his
[00:55:44] head the bottom corner keeper doesn't even have a chance and I'm gonna go the other halves other
[00:55:50] have to md they stay had the presence of mine to stay in an on-side position and then immediately
[00:55:58] counts forward before anybody else can react I'll give it a second second half man the match
[00:56:05] Taurus thanks for creating that goal we love you again agreed I'll go with that I'll go with
[00:56:12] second half man the match the ricochet key Taurus so Ryan you and I were at the match
[00:56:21] Patrick's off gal event the world doing fun things and you and I were Edmunds O's brewing company
[00:56:28] it's something magical happened quite a few people showed up and there's a lot of fun
[00:56:33] yeah quite a few people there and it was that was my first time being there at a viewing
[00:56:38] party for the battery Edmunds O's I thought it was a great turnout got to meet a lot of the people
[00:56:45] a lot of people haven't got a chance to meet yet and got to hear some feedback about the about
[00:56:50] podcast and I got to talk a little bit more about soccer a little bit more about my background and
[00:56:57] really connected with the community as well I know people would like to hear out hear about my
[00:57:01] shout out I had and wasn't stressed about the game at all when it was tied one-one I want to say one
[00:57:07] more thing fuego so you brought this jersey in the head like burn marks in it for the last match and
[00:57:15] you didn't ever want to mention it because you afraid it would have a bad light but everyone there
[00:57:20] thought that was the coolest thing so tell us what happened last match to get you on fire fuego
[00:57:27] wrong place right time no let's just say wrong place right time
[00:57:32] for the home opener and unfortunately my brand nail home jersey
[00:57:40] suffered some burn marks and it actually kind of looks kind of cool I'll have a picture posted on
[00:57:47] the can and crew website and on Instagram once it gets set back to me from the battery but the
[00:57:53] burn marks have actually burnt all the way through the jersey so it kind of has that priority theme
[00:57:59] but yeah a lot of the fans got to see the jersey and they were quite impressed with it and
[00:58:03] they kind of were hoping to get their hands on their very own so I don't know how to retreat
[00:58:08] those burn marks it's a rough being on the can and crew because there's a lot of sparks a lot of
[00:58:12] fire flying so let's talk about Saturday night Edmond's Oath's another watch party playing
[00:58:21] Rhode Island another road trip what are your thoughts Patrick that's the first meeting so I mean
[00:58:28] I watched a little bit of Rhode Island I think we're gonna have a really good game for the battery
[00:58:35] they they seem a little flat and I mean we're up to third third in the conference and they're
[00:58:43] sitting in 11th so I think we just keep playing how we're playing and I'm I'm excited to see
[00:58:51] the ball in the back of the net six times for us in this game so outside that that's it that's
[00:58:59] your prediction is my prediction Torres at trick he breaks through and he doesn't stop breaking
[00:59:06] through oh I like that Ryan what's your prediction I'm just gonna keep it clean and simple with us
[00:59:13] going up to Rhode Island first meeting I'm gonna play Joslina Kyle we dated with our trip to
[00:59:19] North Carolina for the first time in a while up to to Raleigh area I think the battery could get a
[00:59:25] close win here it shouldn't be a close win the way we saw Rhode Island play last week against Tampa
[00:59:33] you know as soon as the game gets further and further into it they kind of sit in once one go goes
[00:59:38] in multiple will keep coming I just looking for the battery to honestly just keep the clean sheet
[00:59:44] get Greenwiss back on that on that roll on that train and for us I don't want to I don't say this
[00:59:51] in a bad way but for Greenwiss to win the keeper award this year that's gonna be his only way to win
[00:59:56] anything as a keeper it's going to be off clean sheet so when that golden glove award because he's
[01:00:02] not gonna leave the league and saves and he's not gonna leave the league and those types of areas
[01:00:07] just because of the amount of shots he's gonna be facing yeah again that's a testament to our defense
[01:00:13] in front of him so Rhode Island is it sound a draw a draw and they're coming off a loss
[01:00:20] they drew one one against New Mexico first match two two against Monterey Bay and got pummel four
[01:00:27] one against Tampa Bay I'm gonna go three nil to the battery I would like to see Tories get a hat
[01:00:35] trick and it's a smart call because they had not kept the clean sheet this year yet
[01:00:40] I feel as long as we do we're good so any thoughts what kind of style of play we're gonna see from
[01:00:48] Rhode Island they're gonna sit back park the bus try to put the ball over the top like Miami did
[01:00:54] that option up top that really breaks them through against our defense so you got to realize who
[01:01:01] they do have a look front they do have the four were 2023 golden boot winner as their new striker
[01:01:11] from Pittsburgh that is his been sworn the majority of their goals then they've scored every single
[01:01:17] game this season all either from him or plays all for them so that's why I was curious to see if
[01:01:23] Charles and can keep this clean sheet that's gonna be a good test for them is keeping that big
[01:01:28] because this is like a team that has a true true big man but you have to remember we have our big
[01:01:34] guy our big guys most likely coming back to well I'm just and I I mean Pittsburgh's missing him
[01:01:42] do you think do you think Dick was going to get past Archer in this game
[01:01:49] if Archer starts I don't think he will Archer's the beast I think he's gonna have a rough time
[01:01:57] because Archer is gonna be if he's starting Archer's gonna be hungry he's gonna want to make a
[01:02:01] statement he's gonna be hopefully back as our captain and he has been beasting people for several
[01:02:07] years now and I think he's gonna do it again especially on the road up there a little bit cooler
[01:02:13] he's gonna be able to tear it up so following Rhode Island we come back home Tuesday night match
[01:02:21] against the top team in our Eastern Conference did we get an unlucky draw that were playing
[01:02:28] the arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference at home on a Tuesday night when they know
[01:02:34] attendance is gonna be low what do we need to do to counter that pack the point
[01:02:41] brand all the kids you can you pack the point all the all the Charles and kids yeah burnjuries are not
[01:02:51] halfjuries are not torn or all we want you there we want you at the battery stadium patriots point
[01:02:59] it's time for all the regimental troops to show up it's time for bar Charleston all of this show up
[01:03:06] and show Louisville that when you come here no matter what day of the week it's gonna be a tough match
[01:03:12] when you have the 12th man surrounding you beaten on the drums and you have to come with that tunnel
[01:03:19] and see what it looks like when you look at yellow wall dead in the eyes you got fear struck in you
[01:03:26] yellow wall we'll talk about the yellow wall later Saturday night 730 if you can't make it down to Edmunds
[01:03:33] those brewing company we're gonna do another watch party with hopefully we get more people in there
[01:03:37] and pack that place it's on ESPN plus follow us on socials and at www.canonbrew.com see you on Saturday
[01:03:49] see you guys later just a quick reminder get there early it's bridge run weekend everybody peace
[01:03:55] you're defense is terrifying and batteries open
[01:04:25] We are not free, you're just we will take, before we, we are the bacteria.
[01:04:55] you
[01:05:25] you
[01:05:55] you
[01:06:25] you
