This Is Joey Crüe Now

The Cannon Crüe is back, and this one turns into a full-on Battery therapy session.

Granit, Patrick, and Ryan dig into the Charleston Battery’s recent struggles, including defensive breakdowns, red cards, inconsistent goalkeeping, and the bigger question hanging over the team: who is the leader on the field?

The crew debates whether Joey should be the guy to step into that role, whether Graham Smith has captain qualities, why Sean Suber still is not getting consistent minutes, and whether Ben Pirmann needs to show a little more fire from the touchline. There is also plenty of keeper talk, including the weekly requirement to say one nice thing about Zamudio.

The episode also branches out into bigger soccer territory, with Colton Swan transfer talk, Arsenal and Manchester City banter, Ryan’s Wolves corner, and the future of Cannon Crüe expanding beyond just Battery coverage.

Also included: Temu Pep, Temu Haaland, cheap Battery tickets, season-ticket-holder pain, Copenhagen confusion, balcony scouting with bullhorns, and the official rebrand nobody asked for: Joey Crüe.

Speaker A

Welcome to the Cannon Crew.

Speaker A

We are running fast and wild.

Speaker A

I am at home station.

Speaker A

Patrick is wandering the face of the earth and Ryan is running hot from training, as you can tell by his hair.

Speaker A

Hopefully he's imparted his goodwill and knowledge and wisdom on the youth and not his debauchery.

Speaker A

Patrick, what's up.

Speaker B

Much?

Speaker B

You know, just doing what I do best.

Speaker B

Slaving out, working as hard as I can so corporate America and all the freeloaders in this country can collect a little bit.

Speaker B

I love to give my tax money away and bust my ass for it.

Speaker A

I love cashing your cat their tax money, by the way.

Speaker A

I'll buy you a beer.

Speaker A

Does that make it better?

Speaker A

Ryan, what's up?

Speaker C

Just had gotten done with keeper training yesterday with U19 training and then had U15 and U19 back to back training again today.

Speaker C

Gearing up for Charlotte Invitational showcase this weekend.

Speaker C

There's a good fun weekend.

Speaker A

Nice.

Speaker A

Very good.

Speaker A

I have a big announcement.

Speaker A

Ryan is not privy to this announcement.

Speaker A

Announcement.

Speaker A

Patrick and I have been discussing it as you see that.

Speaker A

See a little different jersey on my chest.

Speaker A

Cannon Crew is going to transition a little bit from just covering all battery.

Speaker A

We're going to transition a little bit to covering a little more Arsenal.

Speaker A

Well, a lot more Arsenal and whoever team that Ryan wants to throw in there.

Speaker A

Like wolves.

Speaker A

We like the outside perspective.

Speaker A

We might yell at you a lot,.

Speaker C

Ryan, but I will be the neutral Premier League perspective as the Wolves and I will bring up championship side time to time as there is no var and a very different perspective into the game or putty for our fans.

Speaker C

So it's gonna be good.

Speaker A

Very good.

Speaker A

Very good.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

I think I'm excited about it.

Speaker A

Patrick and Ryan, you know this, that Patrick and I are die hard Arsenal fans.

Speaker A

We absolutely.

Speaker A

I mean we literally bleed red.

Speaker C

Yeah.

Speaker C

And see, and Arsenal is not like, like, yes, they're not my favorite team because Wolves are my favorite team.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker C

That.

Speaker C

That's who I support.

Speaker C

But I have an absolute fantastic, an absolute blast every time I go to Edmunds Host with you guys watching a game, it's not like I'm not.

Speaker C

It's not intolerable not to watch with you guys.

Speaker C

You guys do make it enjoyable.

Speaker C

You guys do throw banter around, but you're all respectable.

Speaker C

Like it's.

Speaker C

It's fine.

Speaker A

Well, not everybody respectful.

Speaker C

Well, you have to be respectful on your end too.

Speaker C

Right?

Speaker C

I'm not going in there and shouting at you.

Speaker C

You know, I'm not stuck starting stuff.

Speaker A

So unlike some other fans that want to come in there.

Speaker A

But anyways, yeah, I mean, if you.

Speaker C

Wear a Tottenham jersey, you bring it.

Speaker A

Upon yourself, it's Tottenham.

Speaker A

So, Patrick, do you want to talk a little bit about the Battery match this past weekend or just in general at all?

Speaker B

Yeah, I think, Yeah, I think Ryan.

Speaker B

Ryan just touched on it.

Speaker B

So Tottenham Battery.

Speaker A

I. I don't know how.

Speaker A

I don't.

Speaker A

It's funny how we.

Speaker A

We've been talking all season about our keeper for the Battery has been substandard and one week he happens to get a clean sheet for, I don't know reason why, and all of a sudden he's team of the week for usl.

Speaker A

So somebody's been lobbying hard to.

Speaker A

To get him and he's all over the Battery.

Speaker A

Instagram post about how you got a clean sheet.

Speaker A

You got a clean sheet is one of what, five.

Speaker A

And then the next week he lets in three that were.

Speaker A

First one is in a couple seconds, couple minutes, something like that.

Speaker A

So, yeah, it's just kind of crazy.

Speaker C

What, what have we always discussed?

Speaker C

I feel like the last two.

Speaker C

Two seasons, three seasons we've had him.

Speaker C

Feels like we've had him a hot minute now.

Speaker C

Definitely two seasons now, though, this second one and again and again.

Speaker C

Even before he came to the Battery.

Speaker C

The Battery are always susceptible to at least giving up one goal a game because it's our playing style and back to back games.

Speaker C

Battery are susceptible to conceding multiple goals in the second game.

Speaker A

And we're not.

Speaker A

And we're not.

Speaker A

And we're not scoring goals or number one.

Speaker A

Number one goal scorer hasn't been there for months and now he's going to be off somewhere else.

Speaker A

Do you think he's going to be 100% when he comes to us and, and wanting to dedicate his body?

Speaker C

I wouldn't.

Speaker A

I wouldn't.

Speaker C

Being honest.

Speaker A

He's got, he's got a career.

Speaker C

Exactly.

Speaker C

You just said it's his career to lose right now.

Speaker C

So you, as a matter, you need to find, find a way to, to reinvent and reenact this.

Speaker C

This what we have right now.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

Now go ahead.

Speaker A

I'm gonna throw this out there.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

I've never said this before on this podcast, but throw us out there.

Speaker A

It's time maybe to look at the coach.

Speaker A

What do you think?

Speaker B

Let's see how to see if there is.

Speaker C

I think at this point, I think at this point I, I would start asking questions about the coach with the keeper the way, the way it still is, because it has not, as we've talked about it as like I'm trying to get to the point is short and simple.

Speaker C

Two to three seasons we've talked about how the defense and the keeper's been shit.

Speaker C

We've had a decent keeper.

Speaker C

We've had a good defense.

Speaker C

We're still been susceptible to a bowl.

Speaker C

We can't keep clean sheets in consecutive weeks.

Speaker C

Maybe it is time to look at the coach now.

Speaker C

We're.

Speaker C

We're starting to decrease a little bit further.

Speaker C

We're still in second place though.

Speaker B

I'm not panicking, but we don't have.

Speaker C

A solution to win the league right now.

Speaker C

Like we're saying, the league ends tomorrow.

Speaker C

We could go up in the championship game.

Speaker C

We don't win.

Speaker B

Ryan.

Speaker A

Patrick, what do you think?

Speaker B

Ryan, question for you.

Speaker B

Would you say we've mitigated the defensive issues?

Speaker B

As in we now have two defensive player of the years on our team like that.

Speaker B

That that should put a little more pressure on the offense.

Speaker B

And yet here we are consistently talking about our defensive end and our back line.

Speaker B

Not for lack of block shots.

Speaker B

I think this is the most block shots we've ever had.

Speaker B

Like teams don't get good chances.

Speaker B

They just get chances and score them.

Speaker B

I mean, what the opening goal is a fucking screamer from 30 yards off corner on the box.

Speaker A

How does that go past probably more than 30.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Like, what the.

Speaker B

How's this guy not saving anything?

Speaker C

Absolutely.

Speaker C

My, my main thing that, that I've talked about and each year it's kind of changed on where we're the most susceptible.

Speaker C

But the main course has been in transition play, especially when we are on the attack.

Speaker C

If we are on the attack and there's a transition where we're there now countering us, it's that.

Speaker C

That's where their majority of their opportunities come against us.

Speaker C

And it's mainly a breakdown in the midfield.

Speaker C

It's that midfield and defensive gap.

Speaker A

There's so much there.

Speaker C

There.

Speaker C

There's so much space.

Speaker C

One person's in a wrong spot, they're now going the other way and the guy's through.

Speaker A

Well, let's.

Speaker A

Let's talk about a spot.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Because that happened a lot.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

At least twice last weekend.

Speaker A

Let's talk about it.

Speaker C

Even happen is one for an opportunity.

Speaker C

That's what we're saying.

Speaker C

Right.

Speaker C

So that's two opportunities.

Speaker A

And let's talk about the continued death spiral.

Speaker A

But now we've had two red cards and two matches.

Speaker A

What the.

Speaker A

The first one a couple weeks ago was pure.

Speaker A

Just anger and just lack of complete discipline.

Speaker B

Is discipline.

Speaker B

It was bad it was just bad.

Speaker B

You're up four by four goals.

Speaker B

You just shouldn't be doing that.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

Yes, go in.

Speaker B

Maybe you want to go for a tackle, but you're clearly going to be late.

Speaker B

Just don't go through the guy.

Speaker B

Don't make that tackle.

Speaker B

It's fine.

Speaker B

That one is inexcusable.

Speaker B

That's not a red card.

Speaker B

That, that shouldn't happen.

Speaker B

Honestly, if you want to talk about red cards, you should have the coach, the coach should be the one out there getting the red card so his team can get behind him.

Speaker B

Maybe get a little fire behind their ass and fucking win a game.

Speaker B

Like stop going this title.

Speaker C

Can you say that again?

Speaker C

Can you say that again?

Speaker C

What should the coach do?

Speaker B

Maybe get a little fire runner his ass, get a card and leave it off your players to be the ones out there getting cards.

Speaker B

You fire your team up, you're in charge of this team.

Speaker B

Maybe let the let the heat from the seat you're sitting on burn through your ass and like spark a little fire in you.

Speaker B

We talk about our playing style.

Speaker B

Our playing style is more so the same but has shifted completely.

Speaker B

We have fast players up top.

Speaker B

We have players who are better pedigree than we've ever had up in the top.

Speaker B

We should be scoring at will.

Speaker B

It doesn't matter.

Speaker B

We should be able to bypass the midfield.

Speaker B

We have the best defensive line.

Speaker B

We should be able to just fucking boot the ball to Foster, let him sprint it out and get the ball to Miguel Berry in the box and score goals.

Speaker B

And for some reason this team just can't get it together.

Speaker B

And at the end of the day that's now has to be on the coach.

Speaker B

The coach has to finally take responsibility.

Speaker B

I think we gave Pearman the cushion long enough on this.

Speaker A

He brought in first couple years he had the players that he used to coach at what, Memphis and he had some fantastic players.

Speaker A

They've deserted him now, right?

Speaker A

I mean there was a mass, they're gone, they all left.

Speaker A

So now he's left with the players he picked because it doesn't seem like the problem is the ownership not wanting to back the team because we've got some fantastic players.

Speaker A

So the chaos that we can't seem to get through has to lie directly at the high top shoes of Ben Pearman.

Speaker C

My opinion, I haven't seen coach been yellow Carter yet this season.

Speaker C

I may have missed it if he has been yellow carded.

Speaker C

So I do apologize.

Speaker C

I don't have stats in front of.

Speaker B

Me.

Speaker C

For my players who play for me.

Speaker C

They Know how it is.

Speaker C

We are a very disciplined team.

Speaker C

If you were to get that first red car that the battery got this season, you wouldn't be out one game, you'd be out three to four games.

Speaker C

Because discipline is a major, major role in our team.

Speaker C

You don't see that with the battery.

Speaker C

And that goes for the locker room and that goes for on the field.

Speaker C

It shows now with the coach.

Speaker C

If I saw Ben, if I was on the field or if I was in the stands and I saw Ben Pearman get a yellow card in tomorrow's match, I am fired up and I'm putting everything on the line for it.

Speaker C

If I'm in the stands, I'm the 12th man.

Speaker C

If I'm on the field, my whole body's on the line.

Speaker C

If he gets a yellow card, I'm.

Speaker A

Gonna throw another statement out there.

Speaker A

Do you think.

Speaker A

Do you think Emilia should be our captain?

Speaker B

I don't think we have a captain, to be honest with you.

Speaker B

You brought in so many big name guys and so many players who should be a captain.

Speaker B

There's not a single person who has stepped up and been like, I'm gonna be the anchor of this team and I'm gonna captain it.

Speaker B

We talked about it.

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker B

Yeah, I mean, we talked about Emilio earlier in the season, and like, he flipped a switch.

Speaker B

He went and started doing what he probably should have been doing the whole time.

Speaker B

As a central midfielder, you should be a little more consistent and continue that.

Speaker B

But, like, at some point, I don't know, it's just like looking at a bunch of kids who just are on summer vacation.

Speaker B

There is no, hey, we're getting to the business end of a season here, boys.

Speaker B

We need to lock it in.

Speaker B

It's just, there's no accountability on the field.

Speaker B

And I'm not saying I want players yelling at each other, but, like, there has to be some switch ups.

Speaker B

There has to be, like, tough decisions.

Speaker B

There has to be players out there being like, no, go to this spot, do this.

Speaker B

And I'm not hearing backlash and the court, the coach supporting that decision.

Speaker C

And who do you think, who do you expect that the most from on a.

Speaker C

From a player on the field?

Speaker C

How about our two defensive player of the years?

Speaker C

I mean, that's literally one of the requirements, is communication.

Speaker A

I would.

Speaker A

I would love to talk.

Speaker A

I'd love to talk to Subar and see his.

Speaker A

Because he's come from a fantastic team to us and.

Speaker A

And he's not getting the game time.

Speaker A

He's not getting the position.

Speaker A

Time.

Speaker A

It'd be interesting to talk to him to see, hey, what's going on there?

Speaker A

What is happening?

Speaker A

Is it.

Speaker A

Is it something imploding?

Speaker A

Is it, you know, players just not taking initiative?

Speaker A

Is there a lack of leadership?

Speaker A

Is it a lack of leadership?

Speaker C

I don't even want to ask that.

Speaker C

I would more address just super himself saying, what are you trying to do?

Speaker C

Where are you wanting to go and.

Speaker C

And play?

Speaker C

How is your.

Speaker C

What is your playing style?

Speaker C

And how do you want to play with the battery?

Speaker C

How do you want to encompass with them and elevate them to a.

Speaker A

So let's do this.

Speaker A

Hey, Suber, if you're listening, y' all doing those nice little fuzzy podcasts or whatever with.

Speaker A

With the Battery, why don't you come on here so we can have a nice talk and we can discuss reality and see what's going on.

Speaker A

Not just a nice little fluffy piece.

Speaker A

So if you're listening, contact me graniteannancrew.com send me an email.

Speaker A

Let's talk.

Speaker B

I. I have one better.

Speaker B

Joey, you're the guy, man.

Speaker B

Like, no one's stepping up.

Speaker B

I. I feel like we brought in players who, like, kind of seniority ruled over.

Speaker B

Joey, you're the guy.

Speaker B

Just take.

Speaker B

Take control of this team.

Speaker B

Make it your team.

Speaker B

You're a vocal leader.

Speaker B

You're a physical presence on this field.

Speaker B

You have what it takes.

Speaker B

Don't take a back seat.

Speaker B

Put these people, it doesn't matter a person's age.

Speaker B

Put them in their place, tell them what to do.

Speaker B

Zamudia is not going to do it.

Speaker B

Graham Smith is not a vocal person.

Speaker B

Messer is all the way up at forward, which is fine.

Speaker B

That's where he shines.

Speaker B

Be the leader of this team.

Speaker B

Like, there's so much chaos happening right now, and may I remind you, we're shifting towards a points matter.

Speaker B

So every game matters going forward in the new structure that's going to come forth.

Speaker B

So, like, yeah, there's no more, oh, we drops.

Speaker B

We lost this game.

Speaker B

It's fine as long as we're in the top eight.

Speaker B

That doesn't.

Speaker B

That's going to go out the window.

Speaker B

You're all going to get your contract canceled and go somewhere else to play.

Speaker B

So go ahead and fight for this team.

Speaker B

Joey, I think you're the person to step up and be the captain of this team, be the vocal leader and get everyone's ass into shape on this.

Speaker A

I think that's a great idea.

Speaker A

And Joey, I invite you to come on here too, because we'd love to talk with you.

Speaker A

About the leadership that needs to step up.

Speaker A

About your activity this whole season, about how you've made a major contribution.

Speaker A

How I think you can really transition Battery from being a mediocre team.

Speaker A

We're just lucky to be in second because other teams are losing behind us.

Speaker A

But being a mediocre team to being back where we used to be.

Speaker A

Maybe.

Speaker A

When I said maybe Graham should be the captain.

Speaker A

You're right.

Speaker A

You're right.

Speaker A

I. Joey should be the captain.

Speaker C

I think Graham had his opportunities.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

I mean, he had them.

Speaker C

I think Joey's had his opportunity.

Speaker B

Well, Grim.

Speaker B

Graham had his opportunities when Archer was out too.

Speaker C

Joey showing the intensity.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker C

I mean, you gotta think about it.

Speaker C

The game prior was one because of Joey Saban.

Speaker C

Yes.

Speaker C

Zoo made save.

Speaker C

It's one because Zoo was beat.

Speaker C

That ball was going in the back of the night.

Speaker B

Yep.

Speaker A

And.

Speaker A

And Joey's earned his spot.

Speaker A

A lot of players come on to the Battery and they're automatically selected to the spot.

Speaker A

Joey's had to earn his spot because when he first started, when he came out the first couple times, we were all kind of impressed.

Speaker A

Like, oh, man, he's got some and he had some.

Speaker A

He messed up once or twice because he's young, but he has earned his spot.

Speaker A

And I don't know if all the players on the pitch out there have earned.

Speaker A

And I don't know if the coaches earned his spot, but put it another.

Speaker B

Way, for Joey, you're not.

Speaker B

I mean, in all fairness to the USL Championship, this isn't your final resting place.

Speaker B

Teams out there looking for someone are going to want leadership.

Speaker B

So you're going to want to step up and become this person.

Speaker B

You're so young still, so grow in that way and that'll expand your game a little more, maybe get you to see the perspective of other positions or players and just kind of be that leader and take things on a little differently.

Speaker B

So to eventually get the transfer, which will probably go into the main talk of the night, but like to get a transfer, which I assume is everyone's end goal, is to go up a level more and get more money and get more recognized and try to make their national team, like, do that, like being a leader,.

Speaker A

You really want to be on the USA national team.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

I mean, the Unders, for sure.

Speaker B

Killing it.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

Okay, so let's.

Speaker A

So I'm going to make a second announcement.

Speaker A

This is no longer Canon Crew.

Speaker A

This is going to be Joey Crew.

Speaker A

We're 100% behind Joey and his pursuit in life.

Speaker A

And if Joey, when you start moving up to Europe and everything else.

Speaker A

The three of us will be here, going to your matches, even over there and talking about you and just supporting you on the way.

Speaker A

Okay, do we talk about the big transfer real quick?

Speaker C

Hold on.

Speaker A

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker C

One more thing.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker C

The players on the field playing, is there intensity with communication, playing with purpose, or do you see more of the players claiming out, just kind of playing scared and just shellfish and just playing just to be there?

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker A

And I go back to this defense because midfield, I think you.

Speaker A

You got, you know, Kelly that's doing a fantastic job.

Speaker A

He's the one stepping up.

Speaker A

Messer is just killing it from aside there, putting in assist.

Speaker A

You got Barry that's working his ass off.

Speaker A

You got.

Speaker A

Malik has now stepped up and just really causing mayhem and that's about it.

Speaker A

Everyone else is kind of.

Speaker A

Except for Joey because we're team Joey.

Speaker A

Everyone else kind of lackluster at the best.

Speaker A

Mediocre.

Speaker C

Do you think that that comes from the locker room than that even the locker room is right now?

Speaker A

Yeah, it comes from.

Speaker A

Comes from coaching staff.

Speaker A

It comes from them not being professionals because even when things going to.

Speaker A

They need to step up.

Speaker A

Matter of fact, they.

Speaker A

It's easy.

Speaker A

It's easy when you're winning, right?

Speaker A

I don't say it's easy, but you can go through a difficulty when you're winning.

Speaker A

It's going through difficulty when you're losing and not being the best team that you're capable of.

Speaker A

That's when you find out who the players and I think we're finding out who the players aren't.

Speaker C

Last question.

Speaker C

Do you think any of this stems from the front office changes that's taken place this season with the Battery?

Speaker A

No.

Speaker C

Yeah.

Speaker B

Team wise, I honestly, I think as a locker room, I think it's a kind of like a tennis match.

Speaker B

Your defense should pick up the offense and the offense is slacking.

Speaker B

The offense should pick up the defense when the defense is slacking.

Speaker B

And that's how you get like great team morale and boost like, it's fine.

Speaker B

You guys had an off night.

Speaker B

We got you.

Speaker B

We scored more goals.

Speaker B

You let some in.

Speaker B

We got more offense.

Speaker B

Oh, you.

Speaker B

You barely got a chance.

Speaker B

Well, we didn't let any in, so don't worry about it.

Speaker B

It's fine.

Speaker B

But there is no cohesion top to bottom.

Speaker B

It's just like.

Speaker B

It's.

Speaker B

It's not even split.

Speaker B

It's just.

Speaker C

It's.

Speaker B

It's divided.

Speaker B

Attackers are divided, Defenders are divided.

Speaker B

Midfielders are divided.

Speaker B

There's no cohesion on this team.

Speaker B

No one's like out there telling each other, like, we have to fight, we have to lock in.

Speaker B

Like, we need to.

Speaker B

We need to play better.

Speaker B

They're all just like, all right, well, I mean, loss, we'll go home.

Speaker B

We'll win at home.

Speaker B

Like, what?

Speaker B

There's got to be a point where it clicks.

Speaker B

You're not going to just have home games in playoffs all the time.

Speaker B

Like, you might get bounced in the first round by a seven seed if you stay on the.

Speaker B

In the two seed.

Speaker B

Like, I don't know.

Speaker C

We did have the.

Speaker C

We did have the run.

Speaker C

Ben Pyramid second year where we held home playoff advantage.

Speaker C

Every single home playoff game and yet even hosted the final.

Speaker A

We lost, right?

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

And we still lose because of PKs.

Speaker A

Tells me that's a coaching thing.

Speaker A

Let's talk quickly about the new shirt sponsor.

Speaker A

The paragraph that goes on the front of the battery shirt and it kind of comes from the off centered banner from the beer garden area.

Speaker A

I hope, I hope that they wrote a big check.

Speaker B

Hope they bought new strings for their banner.

Speaker B

That's hung up on national tv.

Speaker A

That's drooping.

Speaker A

That's your indication how the cars go.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Here's a prime example of why we don't get ends with the battery is because we actually say what's happening.

Speaker B

We don't just coddle to them.

Speaker B

Like hang your banners up straight on the end.

Speaker B

That's a sponsor that clearly was in talks for a while because the banner just appeared out of nowhere.

Speaker B

It wasn't there all season.

Speaker A

Let's have some good German engineering.

Speaker A

It centers it on.

Speaker A

On the back on the other end.

Speaker A

I mean, it doesn't take much.

Speaker A

I mean, I think the three of us might be able to accomplish that.

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker A

Anyways, you're right.

Speaker A

Unfortunately.

Speaker C

Don't think a sleeve patch is gonna work.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker C

The best on any type of battery jersey.

Speaker C

Just simply because, I don't know, it actually like goes with it.

Speaker A

Well, I don't know if we'll ever make it to that level because the.

Speaker A

I don't think.

Speaker A

Because like Pat just said, we don't.

Speaker A

We speak the truth.

Speaker A

We'll talk the hard game, not the little soft stuff.

Speaker A

And we're.

Speaker A

And I think we're being usl.

Speaker A

I think we're being nice too, because when we're not on the air, we're a little more scathing.

Speaker A

But anyways.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

Let's talk about some other subject.

Speaker A

Community shield EPL coming up.

Speaker A

Whoa.

Speaker C

Shut out.

Speaker B

We're just gonna skip.

Speaker B

Skip past our boy getting a giant transfer rumor offer for 100,000k.

Speaker B

100,000.

Speaker A

Going where?

Speaker A

Where's he going?

Speaker A

Where's he going?

Speaker B

Scottish premier league to the hibs.

Speaker A

Is he going to hibs, right?

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Crazy.

Speaker B

Maybe.

Speaker A

I, I. I thought we had some kind of arrangement with them a couple years ago.

Speaker A

Then all that kind of hype.

Speaker A

The flag went down from behind the thing.

Speaker A

The hips flag.

Speaker A

So are we back in cahoots with the hibs?

Speaker A

Because I'll go watch colton play in scotland.

Speaker A

I'd rather save up my season ticket dollars and fly over there and have a couple pints of tenants.

Speaker C

I think that's just a short pit stop.

Speaker A

I hope so.

Speaker A

And then he that's not.

Speaker C

He ain't competed.

Speaker A

What do you think he's gonna do after that?

Speaker C

Portugal.

Speaker B

He's doing well.

Speaker C

I know his pathway.

Speaker C

He's gonna go.

Speaker C

He's gonna go scotland.

Speaker C

And then if he doesn't go Portugal.

Speaker A

Where in portugal?

Speaker A

Where?

Speaker A

Portugal.

Speaker C

But he's gonna go south coast.

Speaker C

He's.

Speaker C

It's not going to be Lisbon and porto.

Speaker C

It's going to be.

Speaker C

He's either gonna get no, he's either gonna get the island or he's gonna get central Portugal.

Speaker A

No.

Speaker A

Benfica.

Speaker B

You think Portugal and not like lower division England.

Speaker C

I think.

Speaker C

I think.

Speaker C

I think you.

Speaker C

His book.

Speaker C

His better path is going to be because his playing time is going to be more in Portugal and that Portuguese development league is more crucial than English play because you also have to realize too he's an international player.

Speaker C

He's not a national player on an English team.

Speaker C

So he is going to take one of those spots where.

Speaker A

Oh, yeah.

Speaker C

An English team could pick anybody.

Speaker C

Dude.

Speaker C

That's where everybody's trying to go.

Speaker C

And it's the hardest to make it in England.

Speaker C

Whereas if you're developing outside and then you get selected by the big team and you come into england like that, that's how you want to approach it.

Speaker C

So if he does not go Portugal first it must be Germany or France's.

Speaker C

Economy is actually starting to blow up.

Speaker C

But everyone calls it a farm leak.

Speaker C

But it's starting to develop a little bit more now.

Speaker C

But it'd be Germany or Portugal.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

You don't think Spain anywhere.

Speaker A

You think there's a spot.

Speaker A

There's a club in Spain that could use them.

Speaker C

I think.

Speaker C

I think Spain stopped three or four.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker C

I think it's going to be after Germany or Portugal.

Speaker C

I mean, I would push for Germany or Portugal over Spain.

Speaker C

But he could favor Spain.

Speaker B

You think he's gonna.

Speaker C

It's not off the table.

Speaker B

You think he's gonna make that move and not Scottish and then maybe mls?

Speaker C

My opinion, why step back?

Speaker C

Did he get hurt?

Speaker B

I know, I mean, I don't.

Speaker B

Honestly, at this level, I don't think MLS is a step back from like Scottishly.

Speaker B

Yeah, I think it's.

Speaker C

I disagree.

Speaker C

When you consider his age, what he's trying to do, his status, relationship status is how his family and everything is going right now.

Speaker C

I think it would be a step back.

Speaker C

Absolutely.

Speaker C

He has every means to be in Europe right now and play.

Speaker C

That's where he needs to be, develop and actually be one of these players.

Speaker C

Unlike Blizzard who can come in and actually lead a fricking nation.

Speaker C

Yeah, I'm sorry, but the World cup was.

Speaker C

The World cup was terrible.

Speaker C

You look at Real Madrid and you realize why are they such a dominant team in the Champions League?

Speaker C

I don't know.

Speaker C

Because maybe all 11 of their starters are captains on their national team.

Speaker C

That's a good starter right there.

Speaker C

You don't see that with anybody else.

Speaker C

I mean, you saw the US Furthest we made it was when we had a captain from every MLS team on the team.

Speaker C

But Jurgen Klopp or not, your club union cleans as our, as our coach, we're still, we're still getting there.

Speaker A

So we'll.

Speaker A

Come January, we'll still be following Cole Swan on his journey across the pond.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Well, congrat.

Speaker B

Congrats to him on the rumors.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker C

We gotta do a update about Nick Marcanic here shortly.

Speaker A

Oh yeah, let's do that next.

Speaker A

Next one.

Speaker B

Still alive.

Speaker A

Still alive.

Speaker A

So do we want to move on to.

Speaker A

We're going to move on to the English Premier League now.

Speaker A

Are we allowed to do that, Patrick?

Speaker B

Yeah, it's fine.

Speaker B

I just thought you got to give some flowers to Colton because he earned all this press publicity move in his professional career when he was away from the battery.

Speaker B

Mind you, his battery play was very well, but he wasn't starting and then he went off on international duty and got a lot more accolades about it.

Speaker B

So maybe take note, battery, you have some gems in your team that you're just not starting.

Speaker C

He showed it.

Speaker C

Second game of the season, first round Open cup.

Speaker C

Scored a brace.

Speaker C

Just saying.

Speaker A

Just saying.

Speaker C

Colton's been there.

Speaker C

They just hadn't given him the real opportunities to be that starter.

Speaker C

You'll be in starter somewhere else.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

No further comment.

Speaker B

Maybe you put Subar at center back.

Speaker B

Who, who knows?

Speaker B

What could that look like put the.

Speaker A

Center forward or center back.

Speaker B

Center back where he won the league best defender award.

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker B

Weird.

Speaker A

So to have.

Speaker A

But what we do with Joey, then we put him as forward.

Speaker B

How do you have him learn from a guy who just.

Speaker B

Two guys who just.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Won the League award for best player?

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker A

Maybe it is.

Speaker A

Maybe it's time to do it.

Speaker A

Ryan always.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Maybe it was time to do it.

Speaker A

Ryan's always suggested go three at the back.

Speaker B

I mean, you already play your wing backs all the way up anyways, so what does it matter.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

To that.

Speaker A

Hey, Pyramid, if you're listening, because we know you are, because a lot of times we suggest things and we see it happen on the pitch.

Speaker A

Let's do three at the back.

Speaker B

I mean, let's be honest.

Speaker B

Blackstock comes in and he doesn't play defense.

Speaker B

Like, no, the guys that come in for defense don't play defense.

Speaker B

So what does it matter?

Speaker B

Who cares?

Speaker B

It's fine.

Speaker B

If we're an offensive team.

Speaker B

We score goals.

Speaker B

Just do that.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

I know we talked about.

Speaker A

We were changing to the talk about English Premier League and Arsenal stuff, and we've talked zero about it.

Speaker A

But we're at 30 minutes.

Speaker A

You want to talk anything about the.

Speaker C

Arsenal just gave them props.

Speaker C

Get 3, 0.

Speaker C

Win over a team lost.

Speaker A

Everybody dismantled them.

Speaker A

Rodri's now left.

Speaker A

They're screwed.

Speaker A

Holland's gonna be crying.

Speaker A

He's gonna be wanting to come to Arsenal, hang out with his buddy Martin.

Speaker C

You got, like.

Speaker C

What do you got left?

Speaker C

Like, two.

Speaker C

Two more years left on a contract.

Speaker A

I hate Holland.

Speaker A

I hate him.

Speaker A

I hate him because during the World Cup, I really got to like him.

Speaker A

And now I hate him because I like.

Speaker C

Him.

Speaker A

I almost felt bad for him the way.

Speaker A

The way Arsenal dismantled Man City, I almost felt bad for him.

Speaker C

It didn't feel bad.

Speaker B

They didn't lose everything.

Speaker B

They just.

Speaker B

They bought a couple Teemu versions of people.

Speaker B

So they bought.

Speaker A

I spit beer all over the bar with.

Speaker A

Somebody said, look, it's Teemu Pep.

Speaker A

And I was like, oh, that's hilarious.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker C

Yeah.

Speaker B

So they got Timu Pep.

Speaker B

They got, I think Timu Holland.

Speaker B

I don't think that's real Holland, but I did appreciate the zoom ins of him just being disappointed after goals.

Speaker B

Arsenal goals.

Speaker A

He should be like, you guys.

Speaker B

And no one's bouncing balls off the back of his head.

Speaker B

So you should be.

Speaker A

Nope.

Speaker B

Counting his lucky stars.

Speaker A

So I think next time when we talk about Arsenal, we.

Speaker A

There's a lot to talk about because it's a big season coming up and we can talk about Wolves in the Championship.

Speaker C

And I did point out Championship already started.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker C

And all three relegated Premier League teams from last season all drew on opening weekend.

Speaker A

Really?

Speaker C

They all drew?

Speaker B

Who are the teams?

Speaker B

But I generally, I'm asking because I don't keep up with it.

Speaker B

I only focus.

Speaker B

Like, if Arsenal were in relegation trouble, I would have to, like, keep up with it more.

Speaker B

But we.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Haven't realistically been in that.

Speaker B

Like, Tottenham Platinum's in the championship or they.

Speaker A

Solomon championship.

Speaker C

No, it was West Ham.

Speaker C

Burnley.

Speaker B

Wolves.

Speaker A

That's right, West Ham.

Speaker A

That sucks.

Speaker B

Is that J.J. wattstein?

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker C

Andrew Watford.

Speaker C

They drew Watford.

Speaker C

Oh, yeah, we drew Black.

Speaker C

I mean, we drew Blackburn, but that was also our first Darby match in about 16 years, so that's fine.

Speaker A

It's still.

Speaker A

It's still early.

Speaker C

I can't wait until we play West Brom.

Speaker C

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker C

When we play West Brom.

Speaker B

So you're back.

Speaker B

Honestly, you're back where you belong.

Speaker B

You have all the rivalries back.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Oh, I love it.

Speaker C

I'm so excited.

Speaker C

You guys have no idea how.

Speaker C

This is what I grew up on.

Speaker C

This was.

Speaker C

This was my childhood was championship soccer with wolves, I feel like.

Speaker A

Okay, so we'll dedicate five minutes of every podcast to talking about wolves.

Speaker B

And one nice.

Speaker B

One nice comment.

Speaker B

To zamudia.

Speaker B

5 Minutes of solid wolves and one nice comment.

Speaker B

One sentence.

Speaker B

One nice sentence.

Speaker A

One, one, one nice sentence.

Speaker A

Can we use chat GPT to.

Speaker C

Tied his shoes very nicely.

Speaker B

Nice.

Speaker B

Yeah, he did a good job.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

See?

Speaker A

Very good, Very good, very good.

Speaker A

Our first goal has been accomplished.

Speaker A

Okay, guys, that's all I've got for right now.

Speaker A

I have a lot more, but it's time to go.

Speaker A

Ryan's got to go take a shower because he smells.

Speaker A

Patrick's off in his winter wonderland.

Speaker A

Summer.

Speaker A

Where are you, Patrick?

Speaker A

Where are you hanging out?

Speaker A

You gonna tell us?

Speaker A

No.

Speaker B

Apparently, the concrete jungle.

Speaker B

I. I didn't know it was called that.

Speaker B

I think most cities are concrete jungles.

Speaker B

I didn't know they called Columbia that.

Speaker B

There's a lot.

Speaker A

Oh, so Copenhagen.

Speaker A

There's a lot of Patrick's in Copenhagen.

Speaker A

Deck.

Speaker A

Yeah, C. Patrick's in Copenhagen right now doing some scouting for us all.

Speaker A

So, yeah, he's.

Speaker C

He's on the sat down right now.

Speaker A

Yep.

Speaker A

Colombia or Bogota.

Speaker A

Bogota, Colombia.

Speaker A

I don't know where he's at.

Speaker A

Anyways.

Speaker A

Okay, guys, let's wrap this up.

Speaker A

We'll talk to you at a different time, different place, different altitude.

Speaker A

That's all I Got game this weekend.

Speaker C

Final floors.

Speaker A

Who has the game this weekend?

Speaker B

13 To 4.

Speaker A

Oh, 13 to 4.

Speaker A

Are we talking about battery?

Speaker B

Sure, why not?

Speaker B

Let's see something different.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

I mean, are we at home?

Speaker B

We'll win 31 and we're at home.

Speaker C

Against Miami this weekend.

Speaker A

Oh, it might be a draw.

Speaker A

I'm gonna go with a draw.

Speaker A

That's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker B

Tickets are on discount if you want them.

Speaker C

Just.

Speaker B

They continuously get discount.

Speaker B

So get some.

Speaker A

What are you.

Speaker A

What are you talking about?

Speaker A

I paid 1250 as a season ticket holder.

Speaker A

Are they cheaper than 1250?

Speaker C

Dude, they were selling tickets for consecutive games.

Speaker C

Now $8.

Speaker A

So as a season ticket holder, I'm paying more than what I could get on the open market.

Speaker B

Yeah, but don't.

Speaker B

Don't hold your breath.

Speaker B

The new season ticket prices are going to release.

Speaker B

You can renew now.

Speaker C

Oh, hey, but also you.

Speaker C

You pay a little bit more, but you got that magnet.

Speaker B

You also.

Speaker B

And you got to go to the small scarf.

Speaker B

Those two cup games.

Speaker B

That was cool.

Speaker A

That was.

Speaker A

Did we win both of those?

Speaker C

Didn't even get to go.

Speaker B

No more than that, though.

Speaker A

Oh, I'm sorry.

Speaker A

It says 2000.

Speaker A

2025.

Speaker A

I didn't get a magnet this year.

Speaker A

You got a magnet for 2026.

Speaker C

Didn't get anything this year.

Speaker B

Yeah, must have missed the pickup.

Speaker A

So I might know somebody that owns a condo on the other side that you can see on the other side of the.

Speaker A

The pictures Boulevard, wherever it is that looks into the stadium.

Speaker A

Maybe we should go up there and sit on our balcony and watch matches.

Speaker B

Sounds more relaxing.

Speaker A

It does.

Speaker A

We'll get bullhorns.

Speaker A

Or I could just pipe into my car.

Speaker A

We just have bullhorns behind the.

Speaker A

The off centered Mercedes Benz.

Speaker A

Whatever it is.

Speaker B

We just have.

Speaker A

Okay, guys, I'm done.

Speaker B

CDL driver with an extra container on top.

Speaker B

Parking the yellow line.

Speaker A

We need a.

Speaker A

We.

Speaker A

We need a catering truck.

Speaker A

Okay, guys, I'll talk to you later.

Speaker B

All right, let's see it.

Speaker C

We will think we are the battle race.
